"Ab toh college bhi khul gye, fresher's party bhi mil gyi aur campus bhi dekh liya ! Parr ye Gustaakh Saale ke auditions kab honge ? "
We hope you all enjoyed our performance in Aakarshan'22. As you all have met the "Mishra Parivar" already, it's time to extend the Parivar of 'Gustaakh Saale' too.

We were overwhelmed by your enthusiastic participation in 'Chal Paka Mat' (not pakau) and 'Aa Dekhein Zara'. We know you must be tired of this monotonous process of recording yourself everytime in the camera and submitting it on the Google Forms but that was because of the online constraints. This time 'Stage bhi hoga aur Audience bhi', so it's time to bring that 'Gustaakh' in you out on the stage. Remember there's first time for everything so even if you haven't done drama before don't worry, all you need is willpower and dedication.

The auditions for acting will be conducted in two parts:
1.) Any short act/ monologue of your choice. - No restrictions
2.) Let’s keep this a surprise! After all, not everything should be planned ;p
Those who couldn't participate because of the online constraints or any other reason, this is a perfect chance for you to participate.

These auditions are not just limited to actors but for all those who are eager to showcase their talent in any related form (like stand up comedy, beatboxing, rapping...or anything different, basically CREATIVE LOG!!)

Hello Junta !

We are planning to do a stage play in the month of March, 2022 and not to mention, this time in person on campus. The script is almost ready and the stage is set.

We are going to take walk-in auditions on the 20th February, 2022 for the characters of the play. You can refer to the following doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pILtPXmRSxjEVnO2dXYnKfn2MUJ4sgzCZefZjvGUST8/edit =h.qvz7ejbf18r2to) know more about the characters and prepare accordingly. The auditions will be taken on google meet and you will be given respective time slots for your audition. You will be given a set of lines of the respective character you are auditioning for to perform live in the google meet.

Hello Junta !

Kya aapne bhi movies ya web-series dekhte waqt socha hai ki kaash main bhi 'Pushpa ka Pushparaj' hota ya 'TMKOC ki Daya Ben' hoti ? Or do you just like imitating your favourite characters from Hollywood and Bollywood ? Well here's your chance to showcase that talent of yours.
'Aa Dekhein Zara !', toh bhai kisko bulaa rahe ho ? kya dekhna hai ? So basically simple hai jisko 'chull' hai aa jaao aur apna talent dikhaa jaao. In the main round some of the most iconic characters from Hollywood and Bollywood will be having amazing and mind blowing conversations with each other. Just imagine a conversation between 'Basanti from Sholay' and 'Chatur from 3 Idiots'.

But before we move to the main round, there will be a prelims round first. So you will be given a choice between Hollywood and Bollywood and we will be giving you a popular character of either of those based on your choice individually. Never heard of that character before ? Don't worry, we will be giving you enough time to understand that character. Now that you have been assigned a character from our side, you will have to prepare a monologue / set of dialogues of that character, record a video and submit.

𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒉 • "Taakat izzat deti haina, toh taakat hi izzat le bhi skti hai.."
This monoact walks you through life of a young innocent kid who is trapped in the past horrific memories of that riot which destroyed his life in seconds. The only things that riot left him were hunger, suffering, nightmares and his sweet childhood memories that would never come back.

ARRE BAS YAAR! Ye kya “thakela” introduction hai, apan gustaakh saalo ko thoda “chull” maangta hai, thoda style-thoda confidence maangta hai!

Hence here’s a platform to express your style and confidence and, undoubtedly, your talent.

Presenting to you your first event in Gustaakh Saale - “𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒂𝒌𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒕”

Let us get to know each other in a fun way. The event is simple, all you have to do is tell us about yourself, what brings you here and what you look forward to in under a minute, BUT, you have to do this while enacting a character.

The character can be anything- 90s ke Rajesh Khanna se lekar Sacred Games ke Ganesh Gaitonde tak, yaa Hollywood ke Harry Potter se lekar Peaky Blinders tak or it can even be a character of your own creation. Use dialogues, styles, accents or even makeup and attire if you want, to make it crisp and entertaining.

Bas ek baat ka dhyaan rakhna - ki Pakaana nahi hai ! :p

We all have that actor inside us (Han hame pata hai roz mirror ke saamne khade hokar, aap hi apne favourite actor/actress ki acting karte ho).

Time to show that talent of yours.

Greetings everyone!
Are you interested in knowing the haunted tales and folklore around IIT Mandi’s campus and the places surrounding it? Well, you are in luck.
Gustaakh Saale presents दास्तां-ए-खौफ, a horror storytelling night.
Halloween just passed, and while we were busy grappling with the horrors of quizzes and grades this Halloween, its not too late to bring the spooky mood back. Join us by bringing in your own stories or stories you’ve heard and narrate them in front of an audience, or just switch off the lights, get comfy and tune in as we listen to people tell stories of encounters with the supernatural.
Get to know about the haunted side of the campus by the people who have lived it, as we invite a few of our alumni to come and share stories from their college days.

Have you had a supernatural experience yourself? Does your hometown have its share of haunted tales? Or do you just have an interesting horror story to tell? We invite and encourage you to come and narrate it at the दास्तां-ए-खौफ. Kindly fill the form attached to confirm your spot.

𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝟐

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐝𝐬𝐚𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐲

Every great team has a man with a keen eye-sight who has the big picture in mind who speaks what should be spoken and does what needs to be done.

In our Gustaakh Saale, Ashu is such a person. People say he is always in his own world which is nothing but another way to say that he is a '𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒓'. In these 4 years of college, he has dreamt with us and directed those dreams to a conclusion.

He is as free as it comes and has a very magical way to make sure things are done. You want a prop? He will arrange it. Cold? He will have a heater! Tired? Ah he will bring a luxury sofa for you. Here is a man who has always expected the best from you for whatever he has done, he has done with his whole heart and spirit.

While being the direction head of our club he has breathed life into a multitude of characters of which he has special command on playing feminine roles :).

Despite nailing roles like that of an "𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒂 𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒌𝒊". Don't judge him by his roles for if you ever meet him you will realise that he is the absolute opposite of "abla".

In the club, here's someone who can be stubborn in your face and yet still be on your side and just see-through times with you …

And then celebrate those times… and then some more. His spontaneous nature has always brought a creative twist to whatever this club has done. We all have watched him learnt from him and thus hope to keep his way of thinking alive and continue to imbue it in our future endeavours.

Such people are rare, exceedingly rare and would surely be a treasure to whichever team he chooses himself to be a part of. While everyone treads their path, here's someone who'll, for a while, just join along whatever path you are on.

All the best Ashu for your life ahead! Gustaakhs will remember you... and ensure that the Gustaakhi in you remains! Until we meet again."

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨

“Tutorial….tutorial khatam to handouts…handouts khatam to slides..slides khatam to assignments…assignments khatam to quiz…quiz khatam to midsem…midsem khatam to endsem….are insaan hun yaar…insaan hu” -Well…every engineering student can relate to this…and it gets even more enticing when you hear them from Chandan. Introducing to you, the man who embedded these words in every engineering student’s heart (but irony is we don’t think he had ever experienced it..what’s say Nakul?? XD…wait stop stop.. we are going off-topic)… the carefree, the multitalented, the clever, and obviously, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒂𝒌𝒉 𝑺𝒂𝒂𝒍𝒆, Nakul Yadav. He is the one who aced the lead role in Nukkad in his first year in Inter IIT, the one who gives life to every character he enacts; this adorable son can make you cry, this frustrated student can make you sympathetic and anguished, this naughty Shinchan can make you laugh,…anddd.. the list is long. He is the real “Gustaakh”, always ready to fight against any repression. He not only brings revolution in real life but in reel life too…his “Azaadi Azaadi” still echoes in the OAT. No matter how smartly he may live in his real life; we still remember how he anchored Aagman 2k18 in lungi. All in all, his dedication to the club is next level after all he is the one who always gives his 110% (10% extra Inter IIT 2k18 me leg fracture ke lie XD)

You all might have seen an individual being dominated by a group of people…. but ever seen the reverse happening??…well that’s how our Nakul Guys lives his “normal life”. He reasons with literally everything…so beware before you interact with him. We don’t think we need to tell you more about his convincing skills…Exodia 2k19 is evident enough!! This start up guy is all-rounder; acting krte hain, scripting aur direction bhi …. finance bhi smbhalte, teams bhi (ex convenor) ...counselling bhi krte (gcs)...photography bhi….aur engineering to obviously …...wait..iska idk..XD

Undoubtedly, we love Nakul, but still, if you ever wish to use him for practical/ political gain...tension not….apna bhai full bikau hai…..…. but beware…..he loves “bakaiti” a hell lot more than any person or party XD. While avoiding all these nuisances might be the vestiture of the sane man, playing with them - infact, toying with them is what probably marks the best of insane..... we owe it to the (in)sanity of gustaakhs, to raise a toast to this “lovable rogue".

Unlike the conventional heroes, Nakul is the “tedha ustaad”, or you can say he doesn’t get fun doing things the right way XD. Batch 2k18 still remembers how you made them dance in Aakarshan….(and mand ka dola….jo na nache uski….). Go and talk to him…. you will be shocked to see how adventurous even his BTech life was. He may appear serious initially but once you know him, he is probably…..the coolest senior??(....nahhh…it’s still Baba XD…)

“𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆”. Well, we Gustaakhs never believed it after all what is the point of being one if we bow to helplessness. Struggling amongst the chaos created by this pandemic, we had this one wish to do before your college life ends….but alas…” 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝑮𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈” …..will forever be our play that went wrong. We wish you best for your life ahead and hope you remain the hero in all the stories of your life.
