PAATHI – A Kriti Half Told 🎶

Sharing little excerpts from kritis that are close to my heart.

Next in the series is the timeless kriti ‘Marugelara O Raghava’, a composition of Sri Tyagaraja Swami set in the raga Jayanthasree. In this kriti, Tyagaraja Swami addresses Lord Rama with a deeply personal question — “Marugelara?” (Why do you hide from me?) — even after realising that the divine exists everywhere in the universe. Some kritis are beautiful not just in their composition, but also in their lyrical depth.

Yesterday was an evening to remember. Thank you, Filmfare, for the Black Lady. Honoured to receive the award for Best Playback Singer – Male (Malayalam) for Periyone from Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life.

First and foremost, my deepest gratitude to the maestro, the legend sir, for the conviction he had in me to sing this gem in all five languages. To be trusted by him with a song of such depth and emotion is something I will carry for a lifetime. I grew up listening to his music, and to now stand here, having sung under his direction, feels surreal. His faith in me means more than any award ever could.🫶

Thank you, sir, for seeing something in me and for pushing me to deliver beyond my own expectations.

sir, take a bow for the beautiful lyrics that helped etch this song into people’s hearts. Thank you dear sir for making me a part of this grand cinematic journey. rajuetta, your portrayal of Najeeb gave this song a soul and elevated everything to a whole new level.

I wouldn’t call my journey a struggle. I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. Some moments were lessons and I believe I’ve evolved beautifully through every chapter.💫
