SYNOPSIS Aarambh theatre's production of Chandni Raatein is a musical adaptation of the Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky's classic 1848 short story, "White Nights".
The play, directed by award-winning playwright Purva Naresh, transposes the story's setting from St. Petersburg to an Indian context, weaving in Hindustani classical music and Kathak dance to retell the romantic tale of love and longing.
The story is told through the shifting perspectives of the characters:
The male protagonist, known as the "deewana" (lover), a lonely man who wanders the city.
The woman he meets, the "deewani," who is yearning for another man.
The man she is waiting for.
A silent observer who knows the full story.
The narrative unfolds over four nights, exploring the complexities of love, hope, and the melancholia of a transient connection.

कथा कहने वालों ने राधा और कृष्ण की प्रेम कहानी में रचनात्मक स्वतंत्रता लेते हुए कहीं न कहीं दिव्यता से मानवता छीन ली है। हमने कभी राधा को एक स्वामित्वपूर्ण प्रेमी के रूप में नहीं दिखाया और कृष्ण को चुपचाप उसकी उपस्थिति की लालसा करते हुए नहीं दिखाया।

जब महाभारत का युद्ध पांडवों ने जीत लिया है, कृष्ण अपनी पत्नियों के साथ द्वारका में रहते हैं। रुक्मिणी, जो सबसे बड़ी, प्रिय और बुद्धिमान है, फिर भी अपने स्थान के बारे में चिंतित रहती है। वह राधा के बारे में जानने के लिए महरास का आयोजन करती है और कृष्ण की बांसुरी प्राप्त करने के लिए निकल पड़ती है। आगे क्या होता है, यह कभी सुना या सुनाया नहीं गया है।

श्याम रंग दिव्य अवतार के मानवीय पक्ष का अन्वेषण करता है और कृष्ण को भगवान के सिंहासन से उतारकर एक इंसान के रूप में प्रस्तुत करता है। जावेद सिद्दीकी ने इस विशेष व्याख्या को रंगमंच पर प्रस्तुत करने का निर्णय लिया है। नाटक के गीतों के बोल गुलज़ार ने लिखे हैं।

आओ ले चलें तुम्हें एक ऐसे कथा संसार
जहां बातें तो हों आज की
पर ले जायें समय के पार.
घटनायें घटे हैं अंतरंगी,
चरित्र खड़े हैं सतरंगी,
सादी सी बात पर किस्सागोई??
किस्सागोई ऐसी कि
पहले किसी ने ना सुनी
और ना किसी से कही .
लोक सुधा मे डूबे जहां मुहावरे अलबेले,
राजस्थानी रंग चढ़े कि खेल वो ऐसे खेले.
कहीं भूतों के हैं मायाजाल,
हंस लुढ़क जाएं देख कौओं की चाल,
माँ की आस मे बच्चे काटे विकट अकाल,
ख़ुद दुल्हन की प्रीत बने जब प्रेत के जी की ढाल.

नहीं भाई शेक्सपियर की बात नहीं कर रहें हैं.
बात अपने देश की है,
साहित्य के ऐसे दरवेश की है
जिसकी झोली मे हम सब के लिए कुछ ना कुछ ज़रूर है.
विजयदान देथा उर्फ़ बिज्जी
बिज्जी किसी को मायूस नहीं करते
सबके जी बहलाते हैं सबके मन है धरते.

आज का किस्सा उनके नाम
जो समाज में घुटकर जीते
और जीते हैं गुमनाम
सांच को इनके आस नहीं
कोई ठौर न इनका धाम

दोहरी ज़िंदगी है जान लो
आज की प्रस्तुति का नाम.

Ramleela" is a gripping drama set in a slum community where the residents come together to rehearse for the annual Ramlila performance. Puttan, a member of the slum, is chosen to play the revered character of Lord Rama in the play. However, their peaceful preparations are disrupted by the cunning and greedy Seth Kalika Prashad, who seeks to acquire the land where the Ramlila is traditionally performed.

As tensions escalate, another character, Ali Bahadur, also expresses a strong interest in gaining authority over the coveted land. Amidst this power struggle, Bade Miya, who is responsible for singing during the Ramlila, finds himself rejected by Seth Kalika Prashad.

Tragedy strikes when Puttan's father loses his life in the midst of this dispute. In the end, the government steps in and makes a decision, granting the rights to the land to both Seth Kalika Prashad and Ali Bahadur. "Ramleela" explores themes of ambition, greed, and the consequences of power plays within the backdrop of a traditional cultural event.

Dr. Barun Sarkar resides in our memory as one the most sincere patron for developing Artistic and Sports oriented scenario in the city of Agra. Besides his illustrious achievements in field of Medicine, he is dearly missed by the artists and sportperson of the city for his fatherly presence and support.
To continue his legacy and honour his memories, *Dr Barun Sarkar Sports and Cultural Foundation* under patronship of Dr. Debashish Sarkar and Ranglok, Agra have joined hands to organise Theatre Event that will have shows of two theatre productions on 17th and 18th of November in Sursadan, Agra.
A Dimpy Mishra directed production Ramleela ( written by Rakesh) will be shown on 17th of November followed by Javed Siddiqui's Ek Purana Album on 18th November from Mumbai, produced by Lubna Salim and Salim Arif and directed by Vikas Bahari next day on 18th of November.
