Fresher's Night 2K13 Ramswaroop College, Lucknow started with the performance of DRACULA..


Fresher, as its one synonym suggests vigorous, means energetic, enthusiastic, this energy or enthusiasm can only be seen if they get a chance to show. Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges gives this opportunity to its fresher by the medium of Fresher's night.
Nearly 15 days prior to the event the preparations of this event gets started, all the branches try hard to prove their metal, but only top three branches get success in this enormous event. This year 14th September was the day decided for FRESHERS 2K13 and events' theme was dreams of fresher, what a wonderful theme in itself. All the clubs of college promoted their respective clubs so that students get to know about them and further join them. Proper auditions for students were organized so that they do give auditions and know where they belong. This process goes on in every branch, coordinators for different clubs are appointed from the second year so that they can interact with them and guide them in the preparation of the event.

The event started with the performance DRACULA (dramatic society of college). The event was basically a street play having the inspirational message for youth, making them aware of their duties to the nation and telling them the worth of their dreams. Boy named Summit stole the show in that event by his amazing beats on 'dholak' which energized the whole crowd for the event, literally the guy played drum beats on a simple 'dholak'.

After that the whole crowd gathered at main stage for seeing the fresh talent arrived in the college. Every branch was allotted 20 minutes for their performance. In that allotted time they had to show there dramatics, singing as well as dancing skills. EC branch was the opener of event. They showed their all-round performance through the medium of a story which combined all three arts. Then after that, other branches came and did their best for proving their worth. All in all, the talent was the king!

Dexterity Day 2 Ramswaroop College, Lucknow




On the first day it was just half done, second day started with a bang with solo singing. In this every school was allowed to send participants and use of synthesizer and guitars were allowed. Young school kids performed like rock stars, scintillating performances on typical songs like 'Rolling in the deep', 'Hey soul sister' & many more were given by them. The crowd was enjoying every bit of that competition. If I was just given a choice to explain the whole atmosphere in one world, it was simply fantabulous.

After that, events of mono acting and Ad-Mad were held one after another, these events showed the hidden drama in the school kids. The guy who played the character of joker of dark night rises was simply amazing. After that the public speech was held. The topic for the public speech was 'Contribution of Indian culture to the world', kids did the whole justice with the topic, and they showed their full enthusiasm and patriotism.

This event also included an interacting workshop by 'Mr. Sanjay Deglorkar', He is a librarian in IIM Lucknow by profession but a very well know theatre artist. The topic for the workshop was 'Importance of co-curricular activities in the life of student'. Sanjay showed us various examples of how an individual can develop his personality by the help of these activities. This workshop was interesting and helpful for the students.

After the workshop it was time for some fun which took place in the form of two events that were antakshari and dumb charades. Song after song by various teams was so adorable to listen to, the knowledge of the songs and the quality of singing by the students was mesmerizing. In dumb charades silent acting by the kids and the reaction of their team mates at the same time was a treat to eye, different teams adopted different conventions to make their team mates guess the name of movie. After that it was turn of prize distribution, the reaction on the faces of students after receiving their prize was so nice to see. This event gave a lot to learn. At this platform they saw what they can do and what others can do with their talent. They also learnt where they lack and what effort they had to put in, so that they could excel in near future.

Dexterity Ramswaroop College, Lucknow, Day 1


Dexterity the annual inter school fest organized by DRACULA (DRAmatics & CULtural Activists) society of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of professional colleges, gives enormous opportunities to School kids so that they can show their talent at a higher level. It works as a platform where they can get exposure to inculcate professionalism in them. This festival is the medium where they can see the transition of school kids into budding professionals.

Earlier the dates of the event were 18th and 19th November, but due to sudden demise of director general of the institution- Dr. A K Mehrotra, the event was postponed to 29th and 30th November. For an event to take place, it takes lots of effort like inviting different schools, getting sponsors, promotion of event and many more. Finally the day came- 29th November 2013. The event started with group singing. This event proved that nothing can be as good as music for starting the fest. After group singing it was GK quiz which quizzed the students in various fields like Entertainment, Literature, History, Sports and visuals. Every school was well prepared for the quiz. Questions were difficult, but, students showed that they are tough enough for the questions.

After these two events it was the inaugural ceremony, where Dean and Director of the institution gave precious tips and shared their thoughts with the kids. It was followed by performance of DRACULA in the form of a beautiful stage play. After that a series of off stage events were held and group dance was the event which was going onstage. Folk dance by DPS Indranagar stole the show. Debate was the last event in which two students from a school had to participate, one had to speak for the motion and other had to speak against the motion. Separate winners for the motion and against the motion were declared, in which Abhishek Awasthi of Monfort Inter College gave an awesome performance by showing his accurate knowledge of facts and statics.

Debate concluded the Day 1. This day brought several mouthwatering and breathtaking performances. School kids showed that they are just kids by their face but actually they are masterminds, which carry the world on their finger point.

Dracula Presents: Dexterity 2013

Dexterity as the name suggests adroitness or skilfulness, in other words representation of skills. This November DRACULA (DRAmatics and Cultural Activists) the society of SRMGPC (Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges) is providing opportunity to school champs to show their skills by the medium of an inter school festival named DEXTERITY.

This is the great chance for school students to inculcate professionalism in them by getting great exposure in this manifesto; this is the chance for them to groom their overall personality by participating in the various events of the fields which they like. There are lots of event from the field of DRAMA, DANCE, MUSIC, LITERATI and ART n CRAFT.

The date of this fest will be 18th and 19th and venue will be Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management. Any interested student can get the details of the fest by mailing at [email protected].

This is the first time SRMGPC is organizing an inter school festival, there is a great opportunity for school children to show there enormous talent and prove their mettle among various schools across the city. There is no registration fee for schools, and there are prizes and goodies on every event, certificates for participation and achievement both will be given to the participants. The participants have to bring a no objection certificate from their school they will be provided their ID cards which they have to wear in the campus.

So the doors are open for all and battle across the city is at its peak, let's see who is dexterous enough to prove its dexterity.
