On 12th February 2026 , Theatre Arts Workshop celebrated its 60 years of completion. We felicitated Dr. Anil Rastogi for getting "Padma Shri" award in 2026 for his decades of contribution to Theatre and Science . We feel so privileged to have a such a personality in Lucknow who still strives for searching something new through his acting.

Theatre Arts Workshop (TAW) is not merely an institution—it is a living legacy. Founded in 1966 by Padma Shri Late Prof. Raj Bisaria, TAW has been a home, a sanctuary, and a crucible for theatre artists for six remarkable decades. It has shaped minds, awakened voices, and nurtured generations who learned not just the craft of theatre, but the values of discipline, truth, and artistic courage.

Across sixty years, TAW has touched countless lives—on stage and off it. Through its pioneering bilingual productions, rigorous training, and fearless engagement with classical and contemporary works, it has carried Indian theatre to national and international stages, while remaining deeply rooted in human experience and social conscience.

As TAW completes 60 years and looks ahead, it carries forward memories, mentors, and moments that refuse to fade. With renewed resolve, it continues its journey—to inspire, to question, to train, and to dream—ensuring that the light ignited in 1966 burns brighter for generations yet to come.

Shuturmurgh is beautiful satirical play written by Gyandev Agnihotri and directed by our senior faculty Mr. Prafulla Tripathi. This was part of our 45 day Holistic Theatre Workshop that was conducted from 15th September 2025.
