Some mornings become a part of history.

At the sacred feet of Shree Brijnath Ji Temple, Kotah Garh, we gathered for a morning that transcended performance and became an experience of devotion.

The deeply meditative Dhrupad by Sushree Aparajita Chakraborty, accompanied by the resonant Pakhawaj of Shree Roman Das, touched every soul present. Their music filled the temple corridors with timeless vibrations, carrying forward one of India’s oldest living musical traditions.

For over 300 years, Shree Brijnath Ji Temple has witnessed countless moments of faith and history. This enchanting Sacred Morning now becomes one more cherished memory in its enduring legacy—and in ours.

We are deeply grateful to Maharao Saheb of Kotah for joining us and to MKSb of Kotah Jaidev Singh Kotah for their unwavering support.

Some mornings don’t end. They continue to echo within us.

Sacred Morning

The reason for choosing the ancient ghats as the stage for our first Sacred Morning was simple — the Chambal River is the foremost reason for Kota’s existence.

The kings who built this city chose this land because of this ancient river, known in the scriptures as Charmanyavati.

Our new series, Sacred Morning, is a tribute to Mother Chambal, to the people who built this city on her banks, to the Naga Sadhus who once called these ghats their home, and to the countless lives that passed along these shores through the centuries.

The Perfomance!
The Odissi recital at the ghats of the Chambal was no ordinary performance.

It was the writing of a new chapter upon the centuries-old Burj of Badi Samadh — where heritage, nature and classical arts came together in a moment that the city had never witnessed before.

The audience -
Drawn by an invisible and universal pull towards what is ancient, pure and divine, a gathering of Rasikas found its way to the ghats of the Chambal that morning.

Many arrived seeking something, though few could have named it.

At first, they watched closely, trying to understand the vocabulary of Odissi — the gestures, the movements, the rhythm of the form. But gradually, understanding gave way to surrender.

They surrendered to the beauty of the Chambal, to the grace of Anushree Padmanabha’s dance, and to the breathtaking stillness of the historic Burj of Samadh that stood witness to the morning.

For a brief moment, time seemed to slow, and the boundaries between art, nature and heritage quietly dissolved.

The Time!
Kota witnessed something rare.

The centuries-old ghats seemed to come alive, while the ever-flowing mighty Sadaneera Chambal stood still in spirit as it flowed beside them.

A new chapter was written in the cultural history of the city as an Odissi dance recital unfolded on the historic ghats of the Chambal — perhaps for the very first time in centuries, if ever before.

For one unforgettable morning, heritage, nature and classical arts became one.

The Artist-
Anushree Padmanabha, an accomplished exponent of Odissi, carries a grace that speaks even beyond her dance. A brilliant artist and a vibrant spirit, she brought both precision and presence to the morning.

As the audience watched her performance in wonder, she herself seemed equally captivated by her surroundings. The ancient Burj of Badi Samadh, the timeless flow of the Chambal, and the gentle rays of the morning sun became silent participants in the recital.

In those moments, it felt as though the dancer was not merely performing before the landscape, but was in quiet conversation with it.

The Partner-
We extend our gratitude to Pranjal Agrawal Investments for being a part of Sacred Morning
