Specially for our vocalist friends. Here is an interesting anecdote. The herb, Acorus Calamus L, can be chewed to soothe your voice, if it's suffering from fatigue. It's roots were frequently chewed by the great Carnatic Vocalist M.S. Subbulakshmi to soothe her voice after Riyaz. If she felt her voice was suffering from fatigue. The leaves and Roots contain an oil that helps soothe vocal chords. In Bangla, it's called "Boch". It is a fragrant marsh herb that is now quite rare to come by. It is known to natives under the name, "Vai Vaigundar" or "Naglachh" in Kashmir and as "Bariyan" in Jammu. In English, it's called "Sweet Flag", "Calamus" or "Singer's Root". ☺️ Keep sharing the knowledge.
