Today, I am sitting, looking at that evening again - not on a stage this time, but on the pages of Calcutta Times .
Once upon a time, there was Ritu.
And then he made Raincoat.
A film that was never just a film. A film that was never just a film. It was about two people, two lives, unfinished conversations and all the things we sometimes leave unsaid.
And that evening, when Shubha Mudgal began to sing, for a moment it felt as though we had somehow travelled back in time. Back to the world where "Raincoat" was being made, where those emotions first found their form, where Ritu was telling his story through expression and silences.
And then there were the artists who made that evening what it became -- Manomay Bhattacharya , Subhamita Banerjee , 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘁𝗶 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘆, Raghab Chatterjee , 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘆𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗷𝗲𝗲, Shovansundar Bosu , 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆, Abhishek Chakraborty , Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee and musicians who brought their own colours, memories and emotions to the stage.
Special thanks to my Western Choir and all my comrades - 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗞𝗮𝗿 - 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮, 𝗦𝗿𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗷𝗲𝗲, 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆, 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸, 𝗔𝗿𝗳𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗮, 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹, 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮, 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗵𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗿, 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗿.
