Wishing Chirag Patel a very happy birthday and a splendid year ahead.
Chirag Patel (b. 1973) is a painter and visual artist based between Gir and Vadodara in Gujarat. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda (BFA, 1999), Patel’s artistic practice is deeply influenced by his lifelong engagement with the wilderness of Gujarat. Alongside his art, he has long been involved with wildlife conservation, collaborating with ecological initiatives such as lion censuses and nature education programs.
Patel held his first solo exhibition at Maneland Resort, Sasan Gir, in 2003. In 2009, he presented This is Not It, a solo show at Priyasri Art Gallery, Mumbai. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Baroda March (Mumbai, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2021); a three-person show at Art Konsult, New Delhi, (2008); After Images at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda (2007); shows by Samsara Art, Mumbai (2007), and Art World Gallery, Chennai (2007). He was featured in several editions of the Feb Show at ABS Bayer Gallery, Baroda (2004–2007), as well as exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (2003), and the Gujarat Lalit Kala Akademi (1998). He has also participated in several artist camps organized by Art World Gallery in Kodaikanal (2007) and the Harmony Art Foundation, Mumbai (2015).
