"Art is freedom. Being able to bend things most people see as straight line."
Yes, this is what we believe in as students of music and dance. "Notun Bouthaner Chuti" is an endeavour where we tried to portray the different shades of relationship that weaved around Rabindranath Tagore and his bouthan, Kadambari Devi. Most of us are under the impression that the only relationship that grew between both of them was amorous. Little did we know that bouthan was his only companion of his boyhood days with whom he had spent his idle days of youth exploring the mysteries of dreamland. Not only was she the deepest female influence on his youth but also a playmate, a guardian angel and Muse to the boy destined to be the most famous Tagore of all.
Kadambari Devi lives on, immortalised through the poet's words, through his writing, through his works of art and through "Notun Bouthaner Chuti"- our humble effort.
