Whole 9 Yards is a multidisciplinary ensemble dealing with live performance, sound and the visual arts. W9Y has worked with reputed foreign and reputed bodies – Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Alliance Francaise du Bengale, Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Goethe Institut/Max Muller Bhavan Kolkata to name a few. ovative theatre productions, have pioneered and popularised café musicals in Kolkata. The founder/director of the ensemble was selected by Goethe Institut/Max Muller Bhavan in their visitor’s programme this year, to attend the Impulse Theatre Festival – Dusseldorf, Germany. Apart from independent short films, W9Y has produced many audio-visual productions - Ad films and corporate films, promotional films for brands, and documentary films for NGOs. Art imitates life.” We also believe that art is the biggest weapon for social change. It has a huge capability of healing, questioning and disturbing society. Our productions question the morals and conditions of individual minds and their responsibility towards themselves and their society. We practice our art with passion & responsibility.

It’s a feeling that words can barely capture, a memory that will echo for a long, long time.

On the evening of September 12th, the Kolkata Centre for Creativity wasn't just a venue; it was a home. The air thrummed with a beautiful, raw energy as Abhishek Majumdar's Harlesden High Street unfolded.

We felt it all: the contagious, roaring laughter that filled the packed house, the expectant, held silences that hung in the air, and the resounding applause that washed over the stage like a wave. In those moments, we saw it in your eyes—the watery eyes that mirrored our own, the gentle sighs of shared emotion. And as the performance ended, the heartwarming feedback you offered wasn’t just a compliment; it was a heartfelt embrace.
This wasn’t just a show; it was a homecoming.

To every soul in the audience, thank you for making it an unforgettable night. Thank you for opening your hearts and letting us share this story of home with you.

Thank you so much to everyone who packed the house for our 12th September show of Harlesden High Street at Kolkata Centre for Creativity amohitheatre. Your support for this poetic, hard-hitting, and darkly funny play meant the world to us.

We also want to give a special thanks for your patience and effort. The amphitheater we performed in has its own beauty and complications, and we were in awe as we watched you navigate every corner of the space, leaning in to hear the most intimate, personal, and emotional sections.

This was by deliberate choice. We believe that a play about displacement, discomfort, homelessness, and turmoil should not be a seamless, comfortable ride. We chose a more difficult path because the world itself is not a comfortable place. Your willingness to make that extra effort to experience the play on our terms was a testament to your courage and made the entire experience truly unforgettable.

We are deeply grateful for your bravery in joining us on this journey. We will be back soon—better, tougher, and more physical and emotional than before.

Salute, until we meet again.
