We are tremendously proud to announce that SCOTTISH CHURCH COLLEGE DRAMA CLUB has participated in the the theatre festival 2024 of NATADHA dated 28th April 2024,one of the oldest bengali theatre groups located in Howrah, West Bengal. The theatre group started its journey in 1974. Shib Mukhopadhyay is the artistic director of this group. The event aimed to celebrate and promote performing arts while providing a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity in the theatre world. We staged our play দ্বৈরথ written and directed by our very own Arunodoy Halder, HIST'25.
SCC Dramasoc didn't stop there, they bagged a special performance as per audience and critics choice at Rabindra Sadan on 3rd of May 2024, under the supervision of Turna Das an eminent theatre artist and an actress. We are extremely grateful for her generosity and her support that she provided us despite her busy schedule.
Furthermore we are also extremely proud to proclaim that we got nominations in various categories-
1.Best music composition (composed by Anushka Choudhury,BENG’24)
2.Best lead actor female (Rajashree Das,BCOM’24)
3.Best lead actor male (Doddy Daniel Murthy,BBA’24)
4.Best lead actor male (Arpan Bhandari,BENG’24)
While we successfully grabbed the best lead actor male for Doddy Daniel Murthy,BBA'24.
We believe that hosting such an event not only did enrich the cultural atmosphere but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and artistic expression among students in the theatre world.
In conclusion, SCC DRAMASOC is thankful to Natadha for their excellent hospitality, guidance and the platform they gave us.
