Although this one was late to come but still here it is. Metamorphosis Volume : 2 turned out to be a blast. We faced innumerable hardships organizing the gig this time but it turned out to be successful inspite of it all.

The August of 2022 will forever be etched in the memories of those who witnessed the spectacle that was Metamorphosis Vol : 1. The energy in the air was palpable, as waves of chaotic euphoria washed over the city, drawing metalheads from all corners to converge at 35 Bar & Lounge. The atmosphere was electric, crackling with the raw energy of a community brought together by a shared love for metal that spoke to their souls.

As the night wore on, and the music reverberated through the air, something magical happened. The walls that divided us came crashing down, and we were all united in our love for the music. Strangers became friends, and friends became family, as we all surrendered ourselves to the beat of the drums and the wail of the guitars.

For two glorious evenings, the bands took to the stage, belting out some of the most ear-splitting and head-numbing numbers that launched the crowd into a state of sheer ebullience and free-spirited vigor. The mosh pits were intense, with bodies thrashing and colliding in a frenzied dance that bordered on the surreal.

But it was more than just the music that made Metamorphosis Vol : 1 such a success. It was the sense of community, the feeling of being a part of something bigger than ourselves. It was the way that the music brought us together, erasing all differences and creating a space where we could all just be ourselves.

And now, as we look forward to METAMORPHOSIS VOL : 2, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. What new memories will we create? What new friendships will we forge? What new music will we discover?

So are you ready? Are you ready to surrender yourself to the music? To feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins as you headbang and mosh with abandon? Are you ready for the next chapter of Metamorphosis, the next evolution of a community brought together by a shared love for metal? We sure are, and we can't wait to see you there.

As the sweat dripped down their foreheads and their hearts raced with excitement, the members of The Headbanger Diaries looked out into the sea of black-clad metalheads, each one thrashing their head to the beat of the music. They felt a sense of pride and accomplishment that they had never experienced before. For years, this group of friends had watched as the local metal scene in Kolkata struggled to gain traction, with gigs few and far between. But now, they stood witness to the birth of something truly remarkable. METAMORPHOSIS VOL : 1 had not only brought together some of the best acts from Kolkata's homegrown music scene, but it had also given a platform to the underdogs of the city's own metal world. What started off as merely an idea had turned into something tangible, something that would forever be etched into the memories of those who were present at the first-ever chapter of the METAMORPHOSIS series. For two unforgettable evenings, the energy in the air was electric, and the music was deafeningly loud. As the last chord was struck and the final note rang out, we knew that this gig would go down in history as a turning point for the metal scene in Kolkata. And for that, they couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with joy and a sense of accomplishment that words could never fully express. "Meet Our Headliner: Deathlore – Bringing To Life Powerful Death Metal With Their Gut-Wrenching Lyrics And Balanced Instrumentation

Hailing from the city of Kolkata, India, DeathLore is a five-member band that has been delivering relentless and powerful death metal music since 2014. Their music, which is a perfect blend of death metal and symphonic death metal, deals with themes of protesting against corrupt systems and diseased societies that have been plaguing the world.

Background:

The band's lineup comprises Prothamesh Ghosh on vocals, Akash Singha on lead guitar, Suman Paul on bass, Barshan Dutta on keyboards, and Samantak Kundu on drums. With a subtle incorporation of political satire into their music, this group of five musicians presents a well-balanced act that combines strong vocals and skillful instrumentation with heavy distorted vocals, aggressive drumming, chugging riffs, and intense keyboard sounds.

In 2017, Deathlore won the prestigious BITS Pilani competition, and in 2018, they were finalists in the Wacken Metal Battle India, runners-up in the IIT Chennai competition, and winners at both the Jadavpur University Sanskrit Fest and Armageddon at R.G.Kar Medical College. They also headlined the 2022 Abomination Chapter 7 and were guests at Moitree Concert 3 and 4 as well as Threat Fest.

Meet PANIC – The Bengali Progressive Metal Band Aiming To Protest Against The Injustice And Corruption In Our Society

PANIC, INDIA is a Bengali progressive metal band hailing from Hooghly, West Bengal. The band was formed in October 2018 with a vision to spread good music among others and protest against the injustice and corruption in our society.

Background:

The band's current line-up includes Koustav Ghosh on bass and vocals, Shibam Biswas and Subhajit Parui on guitars, and Souparno Nandi on drums and backing vocals. Since the band's inception, they have played in various gigs across the country and have achieved great success.

In 2019, PANIC was the 1st runners-up and won the Best Bassist Award in ‘Kalyani Band Er Juddho’. They were also runners-up and won the Best Bassist Award in ‘Road To Glory in 2022’. In the same year, they were the champions in the IIT Kanpur Kolkata Prelims and won the ‘Armageddon 2022’ in R G Kar Medical College, where they also won the Best Vocalist, Best Guitarist, and Best Drummer Awards.
PANIC was the champion in the ParxHunt East Regional Finale in 2022, the Rocktaves BITS Pilani Kolkata Prelims, and the Parx Music Fiesta 2022. They were the 1st runners-up in Rockotsav 2022, Baguiati. In the most recent competition, ‘Drums & Guitars Heaven Presents Chinsurah Rockotsav 2023’, PANIC was the champion and won the Best Drummer and Best Guitarist Award. They also composed the official music for Wrestle Mania's promotional campaign in India.

PANIC has released two of their original songs, "Swadhin" and "Janowar." They are planning to release the music story video for "Swadhin" soon, and two more original songs are in the works.

PANIC's music is heavily influenced by Lamb of God, Chelsea Grin, Born of Osiris, Dream Theater, and Fossils. The band intends to use their music to reach a broader audience and persist in expressing their opposition to social injustices.

"Meet Highway 69 – The Ranchi-Based Metal Outfit Raging A Storm In The Indian Indie Music Scene

Background:

Highway 69 is a heavy metal band hailing from Ranchi, India. Formed in 2012, the band quickly made a name for themselves in the Indian music scene with their fast tempos, aggressive playing style, and instrumental prowess. Over the years, they have won numerous battle of the bands titles across India, showcasing their undeniable talent and passion for metal music.
In 2017 and 2018, Highway 69 made it to the finals of the prestigious Hornbill International Rock Contest at the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland, India. Their powerful live performances and raw energy on stage earned them a legion of dedicated fans, as well as critical acclaim from industry professionals.
One of the highlights of the festival for the band was when their drummer, whose thunderous beats are an integral part of their signature sound, won the title of "Best Drummer" in 2017 and was felicitated by Uday Benegal from Indus Creed.

The band started out with a different name, sound, and mentality in 2021, but with time and exploration, they developed a fresh new sound that has been gaining attention.

Their debut single titled 'Lust to Death' is set to release soon and is a track that promises to bring the band's unique sound to the forefront. Ascendancy has been performing at various gigs in pubs, colleges, and band competitions across Kolkata and beyond. They have received a crazy crowd response and have even won awards such as Runners up at Techno Savotsava and 'Best Performance' award at OIKOTAAN 6 (Shivpur).

Meet Fleshcrave – The Old-School Death Metal Band Tributing Kentaro Miura’s Berserk In Their Music

Background:

Fleshcrave is an old school death metal band from Kolkata, formed in April 2022. With a passion for skull-crushing, heavy metal music, the band draws inspiration from the manga Berserk created by Kentaro Miura. Their lyrics delve into the lores and characters of the manga, giving their music a unique edge.

Their debut single, "The Black Swordsman" was released soon after the band's inception, followed by their second single "The Band of the Hawk," both of which were well-received by metal enthusiasts across Kolkata. The songs were based after characters from Berserk. The band is currently working on their yet-to-be titled EP, which is also based on Berserk and is set to be released by the end of this year. They are also working on their third release titled “Spawn of Cruelty.”

Fleshcrave's line-up includes Pratik on vocals, Anirban Dasroy and Soumodeep Singh on guitars, Aritra on bass and Tommy on drums. The band has already played at some of the biggest metal festivals in the city, including The Big Mammoth Festival 2, Dead of Winter and Dethfest in 2022.

Meet Vulgustrike – The Thrash/Groove Metal Act From Kolkata Making Music About The Struggles of Common People

Vulgustrike is a Kolkata-based band that has been a part of the underground metal scene since 2017. With a primary focus on the uprise of common people against the system and authority, their lyrics are centered around themes of retaliation, suppression, exploitation, and denial of justice. The name Vulgustrike itself signifies "common people" in Latin, and their music reflects their rebellious spirit.
The band's sound is a unique blend of thrash and groove metal, with influences from legendary bands such as Sepultura, Megadeth, Testament, Death, Slayer, Pantera, and Exhorder. Each member brings their individual playing styles and strengths, which are incorporated into the writing of their original music.
Formed initially as a jam project between Soham Ghosh and Sayak Bagchi, the band evolved to include a bass player and Soham taking on guitar and vocal duties. However, it was not until the addition of Wazeer Wohra as the fourth member and vocalist in mid-2016 that the band truly found their voice. Since then, they have released one demo and three singles, with Arka Roy joining the lineup as the full-time bassist in late 2017.
Vulgustrike has been a part of various gigs organized under several banners, including Putrid Ascendency (Kolkata Black Mass Ritual, Slaughter in Kolkata), Earth One Productions (Fistfull of Steel), Calcutta Punk Society (Rock for Light 1 & 2), Gorkhakommand (Darjeeling Death Fest 2019), Primordial Shriek (Rockstock, Dead of Winter) Thunderstruk (Hotter Than Hell, Threatfest 2022 Pre-Party) and Kolkata Metalheads (Abomination 2022). Their high-energy performances and powerful lyrics have earned them the distinction of winning the Wacken Metal Battle India 2019 Kolkata leg and competing in the Wacken Metal Battle India Finals 2019, Bangalore.
The band will be playing at METAMORPHOSIS VOL : 2 with a new lineup, including a second guitarist, as they continue to bring their unique brand of metal to audiences across India.
