RRS season 1. The OG Pulp. Produced & acted in this one, back in 2018 (released 2019). Still has a great rewatch / recall value, I’m told.
p.s: those of you, who might’ve given it a miss, keep the political ideologies / affiliations of the artists in the film/show aside & watch it with an open mind :)

how the “system” feels insecure & threatened by the true blue indies. how the studio system apes the indie footprint & then tries to dispose em off. how most of “idealistic journalism” is simply a facade to garb their true aspiration: bootlicking. and many such how’s superbly elucidated by Dibakar Banerjee in this very pertinent interview. Good counter questions by Samdish, as well. Netflix commissioned Dibakar’s “Tees” but hasn’t released it for three years. Let’s just hope, somebody buys the film from Netflix and we get to watch it. Although, Dibakar is far from a true blue indie. But what he is facing resonates with many of us, i suppose, albeit at different “levels”.

Munnu, a 9 year old boy lives with his widowed mother in a slum near Basanti, Sunderbans.While his mother makes a meagre living by doing household chores at a few homes, Munnu too, works at a tea shop, runs errands for a local laundry service to make ends meet.He does not visit school but he his homeschooled occasionally by Madame Leela at whose house his mother works. She used to take her son there since he was 3 and that is how Leela & Munnu struck a bond with each other.On one such visit, Munnu's young eyes and mind catch a sight of gourmet culinary delights being prepared by chefs on the television. Munnu had never seen food like that ever in his life before and he falls in love with the visuals of it at once. So much so, that he gets obsessed and makes it his life's mission to have a taste of that very food at least once, in his otherwise uneventful and colourless life enveloped with perpetual hardships.But little did he know, that his innocent, childlike desire will unfold upon him a barrage of unexpected events that will perhaps, change his life forever !'Mastercook of Basanti' written by Souman Bose in 2016 is a story written in an episodic film screenplay format.It was published exclusively by Amazon / Kindle in 2020, in the same format.
