It was a beautiful afternoon of a short film showcase of 'Iftaar' organised by IHA Foundation and Satnam Ahluwalia, written by Sachidananda Joshi, Member Secretary of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts .
Sapphire Creations Dance Company presented inaugural dance drawn from traditons and motifs of Bengal using 'Pan' ( betel leaf), 'Chamor' ( rituals fan) and 'Dhol' ( drums) followed by rendition of 'Vande Mataram' at The Park with presence of eminent personalities and our Founder Director Sudarshan Chakravorty .

Internal Assessment & Trophies in TRANZ 2.0 SAPPHIRE ANNUAL GALA 2026 : we were glad to give away trophies for the year 2025-26 for Excellence in Performance in Playgroup, Junior and Senior batch of Sapphire Creations Dance Company .
Tithi Mondol received in Playgroup
Nancy Mondal received in Junior &
Adiana Kala received in Senior for showing outstanding excellence and perfection in dance in the year 2025-26.
It was given away by our Founder Director Sudarshan Chakravorty as on 30th March at Uttam Mancha in Kolkata.
Arpita Dutta from Sapphire Professional Dance Development ( SPDP) received Special Trophy for Determination & Dedication in 2025-26.
The dance education of Tithi Mondol and Nancy Mondal is supported by Kutchina Foundation.

Lifetime Dedication Award 2026: It was a memorable moment for Sapphire Creations when our Associate Director Ankita Duttagupta was conferred with 'Lifetime Dedication Award' as on 30th March at Uttam Mancha as part of TRANZ 2.0 SAPPHIRE ANNUAL GALA 2026 by our Founder Director Sudarshan Chakravorty.
Ankita has joined Sapphire in 2006 and became a Company member in 2009. She was part of major productions and tours for last twenty years, like Rituranga, Parivahitam, Ekonama, Rasasutra, Kitareba and more. She became the Associate Director in March 2021.
She was given this recognition for her exemplary dedication, continued practice and contribution in Sapphire.

TRANZ 2.0 also recognised the excellence of students in different bathces. We introduced the 'Koushik Das Young Dancers' Trophy from 2025 as a tribute to our dynamic and talented young senior Repertory member Koushik Das who we lost in 2024.
This year, it was conferred to Abrar Saqeeb for his continued Dedication and excellence in Contemporary dance. He has been firstly a student, then a Repertory member and has a long association of nearly 10 years in Sapphire. He is also independently creating choreographic works and recently was the finalist of PECDA, the only national award in Contemporary dance in India established by Prakriti Foundation.
The trophy was given in Uttam Mancha on 30th March in presence of dignitaries, art lovers and his parents.

Dignitaries in TRANZ 2.0 SAPPHIRE ANNUAL GALA 2026 as on 30th March at Uttam Mancha.
Our Founder Director Sudarshan Chakravorty and Associate Director Ankita Duttagupta gave the opening address in presence of various international dignitaries and dance loving audience of Kolkata.
We had HE Maxim Kozlov, Consul General of Russia in Kolkata, HE Bernard Lynch, Consul General of Australia in Kolkata, Mr. Daniele Panfilo, Deputy Consul General of Consulate of Italy in Kolkata and Marc Boudin, Director of Alliance Francaise du Bengale.
