Disrupted

"Disruptions in the Arts" weaves the poetic tapestry of Dalit Arts and marginalised arts and aesthetics. Challenging conventional norms, it explores aesthetic disruptions, creating spaces of perception and liberation. Through "disruption," the marginalised voices echo, offering insights into contemporary politics. Linked to "performance," "space," “ body” and "emotion," it reveals hidden alternatives. The “Disrupted” delves into moments of transcendence, provocation, and reflection. Critiquing political-cultural conditions, it empowers the marginalised viewers . In this symphony of art, liberation sings its harmonious.

Khandakar Ohida

A multimedia practitioner, Khandakar Ohida’s artistic sensibility is informed by the asymmetries of power that shape vernacular identities. In the short fiction, Dream Your Museum (2022), she focuses her gaze on the conditions of capital, class privilege, and colonial frameworks in formal archival spaces. The film inquires into the tension between postcolonial strategies of preservation and the intimate universe of a Muslim inhabitant of rural India. Ohida was inspired by the story of her uncle, Khandakar Salim, who has been a compulsive hoarder for over forty-seven years. A conversation between the main character and his niece, Maria, establishes a dreamscape through a vivid rethinking of a decolonial museum of memorabilia.

Some glimpses of his early works,

He creates the Visual in monochromatic Halftone. And used same visuals in different colours to make some slides. These colour slides are being projected on the Halftone picture. This process creates an optical illusion to the Viewers .
