Rebecca Mammen John and Priya Ramani congratulations for fighting the good and very very tough fight for all women. MJ Akbar tried to use the law of criminal defamation to silence women. Women’s Truth has won in court today. This is a historic moment in the struggle for equality at the workplace.
Court said, “ Right of reputation can’t be protected at the cost of right to dignity “.

An entire country comes to a standstill as their *Military takes over all government functioning* and announces a state of emergency for one whole year!

The fledgling democracy of Myanmar, a country that opened up to the rest of the world just about 10 years ago, is once again about to be cut off from the rest of the world, as this coup is set to quash all democratic voices/bodies/aspirations in order to make way for the Military Junta's whimsical misrule. This is the same Military that kept the country under dictatorship for decades right after their Independence (around the same time India did), the same Military that oversees genocide not just of the Rohingyas but various other ethnic minorities, the same military that ensures the people remain subservient to the powers that be without question or thought.

As India faces the possibility of a fascist takeover where all democratic values & rights are disintegrating, there is precious little we can do for our neighbours other than trying to understand their situation and relaying it to the world before a complete communications blackout is enforced by the Military in Myanmar

Bilkis Bano, also known as Bilkis Daadi or Shaheen Bagh ki Daadi- one of the fierce women leading the Shaheen Bagh protests- has been detained by the police for arriving at Singhu Border in support of the farmers who are protesting against the farm bills passed by the fascist Modi regime.

Imagine how scared they are of this woman, that she gets detained the moment she arrived, so she doesn’t even get the opportunity to extend her solidarity with the protesting farmers!

We keep reaching a new low evey day. And women keep defining a new height of resistance each day as well.

In Bolivia, the new left-wing government appointed the world's first Minister of Cultures, Decolonization and Depatriarchalization, to reflect its plurinational approach and its priorities in fighting colonialism and sexism in the country.

For the position they have sworn in Sabina Orellana, an Indigenous leader, feminist and activist of the National Confederation of Campesino, Indigenous and Originary Women of Bolivia. Orellana has been on the frontlines in the fight for equality for women and Indigenous people in Bolivia.

The former Ministry of Cultures was closed after the U.S.-backed coup that was led by anti-Indigenous fascists and which ousted the first Indigenous president of Bolivia, Evo Morales. The period during the coup saw an increase in far-right and state violence against Indigenous people. Bolivia has one of the highest percentages of Indigenous population in Latin America.

In her speech, Orellana stated that the ministry will work for a "decolonized, depatriarchalized homeland, proud of its roots and its great cultural wealth."
