Neha Thacker is a Mumbai-based studio potter and founder of Lil Klay Tales, whose practice bridges thoughtful storytelling with the tactile language of ceramics. After an accomplished career spanning nearly two decades in the media and entertainment industry, she returned to her first creative instinct—working with clay—and has since built a practice rooted in curiosity, material exploration, and craftsmanship.
Her artistic journey began in Kolkata, where she first explored terracotta murals and sculptural forms. In 2018, she immersed herself in ceramics in Mumbai, training under Rekha Goel (Pottery Lab), Vinod Dubey (Mitty), and Sandeep Manchekar at the IES Institute of Ceramics. She later refined her practice through the year-long immersive Studio Pottery programme at Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry—an experience that profoundly shaped her understanding of clay as both a material and a philosophy.
Neha’s work moves fluidly between sculptural ceramics and hand-painted functional ware. Drawn to organic forms, subtle textures, and quiet narratives, she creates objects that invite contemplation while remaining deeply connected to everyday use. Her background in visual communication and branding informs her aesthetic sensibility, allowing her to create pieces that are both visually compelling and emotionally resonant.
For Neha, clay is not simply a medium but a lifelong conversation—one that embraces experimentation, imperfection, and continual learning. Each work reflects her belief that ceramics hold the power to tell stories, evoke memories, and foster meaningful connections between people, objects, and spaces. Through Lil Klay Tales, she continues to explore the limitless possibilities of clay, creating work that is contemporary, tactile, and deeply human.
