With profound grief and deep sorrow, the Ustad Karamatullah Khan Memorial Music Society (UKKMMS) informs all patrons, artistes, students, and well-wishers that Ustad Sabir Khan, the distinguished maestro and torchbearer of the Farukhabad Gharana, passed away on 14th May 2026 at 10:30 AM following a cardiac arrest at Manipal Hospital, Broadway, Salt Lake.
Ustad Sabir Khan was not only an extraordinary artiste but also a revered guru, a beloved member of the musical fraternity, and one of the foremost custodians of the rich legacy of Indian classical music. His passing marks an irreparable loss to the world of music and to all those whose lives were touched by his artistry, warmth, and guidance.
Under these deeply tragic circumstances, Naubahar – Season 3, scheduled to be held on 16th and 17th May 2026, stands postponed until further notice.
We request all artistes, invitees, music lovers, and members of the fraternity to keep Ustad Sabir Khan Sahib in their prayers and remember him through the timeless music and tradition he dedicated his life to preserving.
Further updates regarding the festival shall be shared by UKKMMS at an appropriate time.
