Aratrika Dance Group, Panihati presented this Mangalacharan in their 20th Annual Programme, held on 19th July, 2025.

“Padabande Gananatha” is a Mangalacharan dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Set in Raga Sankarabharana and Jhampa Taal, the composition praises Ganesha’s divine qualities — his purity, intellect, and protective grace.

“Padabande Gananatha” is not just a song—it is the dancer’s prayer in motion, an invocation that opens the sacred space of performance. Rooted in Odissi’s rich tradition, it blends devotion, rhythm, and grace, laying a spiritual foundation for the art that follows.

Aratrika Dance Group, Panihati presented this Pallavi in their 20th Annual Programme, held on 19th July, 2025.

In Odissi, a Pallavi is a pure dance (nritta) item characterized by intricate footwork, graceful movements, and complex rhythmic patterns, all unfolding like a blossoming flower.

Based on the monsoon raga Megh and Jhampa Taal, Megh pallavi captures the poetic essence of the monsoon — from gentle drizzles to thundering storms, from the dance of peacocks to the play of winds through forests from a dancer’s perspective.
