Rasa Theatre Collective

Rasa Theatre Collective Rasa Theatre Collective is a Kochi-based organisation co-founded by Rahul Thomas and Sidharth Varma.

Rasa Theatre Collective is founded with the vision to create contemporary theatre performances that are rooted in the Indian socio-cultural and political milieu. The collective, co-founded by theatre makers Rahul Thomas and Sidharth Varma in Kochi, aims to create engaging theatre work that is relevant, reflective and immersive. Our play 'Gajam', supported by the ThinkArts Grant 2021, premiered at

the ThinkArts International Festival for Young Audiences. At Rasa, we also conduct actor training workshops for adults and children. Our three-day intensive acting workshop (AARAMBAM) is on the first weekend of every month. This acting workshop is suitable for beginners and working actors. We also organise weekend acting workshops (ULSAHAM) that is suitable for working professionals. Rasa's acting workshop for children (KUTTY KOOTTAM) looks at the possibility of using theatre as a pedagogical tool for children by creating a non-judgemental platform for children to listen actively and express freely. This workshop focuses on understanding physical expression, the body in space, sounds , rhythm, objects as well as creating characters and scene-making.
