കുന്നിയൂർ എന്നത് നീലേശ്വരത്തിനടുത്ത്, ചെറുവത്തൂർ കേന്ദ്രമായുള്ള ഒരു ഭൂപ്രഭു കുടുംബമായിരുന്നു. 2 നൂറ്റാണ്ടോളം ഈ കുടുംബത്തിലെ പല തായ് വഴിയിലിയും ആയി ജനിച്ച പലരും അവരുടെ കളരി അഭ്യാസം കൊണ്ടും പട നായകത്വം കൊണ്ടും മലയാളം ആകെ അറിയപ്പെട്ടു. ഇവിടെയാണ് രാഘവൻ ജനിച്ചത്. അമ്മാവന്മാരുടെയും മറ്റും പൊടിപ്പും തൊങ്ങലും വെച്ച അംഗ കഥകൾ കേട്ടതിനാലാവണം ചെറുപ്പം തൊട്ടേ രാഘവന് കളരിയിലും പയറ്റിലും അടങ്ങാത്ത അഭിനിവേശം ഉണ്ടായത്. അച്ഛന്റെ ശിഷ്യണത്തിൽ ചുവടുറപ്പിച്ച രാഘവനെ പക്ഷെ കുന്നിയൂരെ അമ്മാവന്മാർക്ക് കണ്ടുകൂടായിരുന്നു. മൂക്കത്ത് ദേഷ്യവും, വെട്ടൊന്ന് മുറി രണ്ട് എന്ന പ്രകൃതവും ഉള്ള രാഘവൻ അച്ഛന്റെ മരണ ശേഷം നാട് ചുറ്റൽ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. പല നാടുവാഴികൾക്കും വേണ്ടി അയാൾ പട പൊരുതി, ദേശ പോരുകളിൽ വെട്ടി ചോര ചിന്തി. പലരുമായും അംഗം വെട്ടി, ഒരു യോദ്ധാവെന്ന നിലയിൽ ഒറ്റക്ക് പേരെടുക്കാൻ. ഒടുവിൽ അയാൾ കോലത്തിരിയുടെ അകമ്പടി സേവകരിൽ ഒരാളായി കൂടി. കോലത്തിരിയുടെ കൂടെ അനേകം യുദ്ധങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന രാഘവന്റെ ജീവിതം മാറിമാറിയുന്നത് കമ്മാരനെ കണ്ടു മുട്ടുമ്പോഴാണ്. കമ്മാരൻ അവന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരു മദയാന എന്നോണം കയറി ഇറങ്ങി പോവുന്നു. രാഘവന് അവന്റെ അനുജനെ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു. തീരാത്ത പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്ക് രാഘവൻ വലിച്ചെറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. പക വീട്ടാൻ വേണ്ടി മുറിവേറ്റ ചെന്നായയെ പോലെ കമ്മാരനെ പിറകെ തന്നെ ചോര മണത്തു കൊണ്ട് രാഘവൻ പിന്തുടരുന്നു, അടങ്ങാത്ത കലിയുമായി
Kunniyur was a prominent landowning family with its seat at cheruvattur, near Neeleshwaram Kasaragod district. For two centuries several illustrious off springs of the family have enriched the malayalanad with their contribution to kalaripayattu and warfare. Born to an Ezhava father and a mother hailing from Kunniyur family Raghavan’s life has been never easy. Raghavan was hot headed as a young man driven by his desire to become strong, with a very aggressive personality. Right from a young age Raghavan has been trained by his Father which was never approved by his mother’s family, for they disliked his father’s ways and values. After the demise of his father Raghavan roamed around and lived the life of a vagabond. This is the phase of his life that made Raghavan the warrior he is. He seeked out Duels to cement his legacy. He fought for various land lords and Kings. Took up Jobs in Changathams(The 'Changatham' served as the 'Akampati Janam' or retinue of Kolathiri). Raghavan took part in various sieges for the Kolathiri which made him the go to man for a lot of missions out of which a few being unauthorized raids. One of these raids changed Raghavan’s life forever for that is where he crossed paths with Kammaran Nambiar. He lost his brother and got almost killed. Since then he is on the run, with sole purpose of wreaking havoc in the life of Kammaran, the man who took away everything that he stood for.” Vengeance does not prevent suffering, Far from it .But vengeance can relieve the sting for one glorious moment.” That is the moment now Raghavan Seeks in his life.
