Colour is often the first language children understand. After our adventure in the forests of central India we are making the most of our time here in India and visiting some cities rich in history and colour.
The Golden Temple, also known as Harmandir Sahib, sits at the heart of Sikh faith and culture, open to people of all backgrounds.
Beside it, the temple’s communal kitchen, or langar, serves free meals every day to tens of thousands of people. Cooked and shared by volunteers, the langar is a powerful expression of equality, service, and community, with everyone sitting together on the floor, reminding visitors that humility and generosity are central to Sikh belief.
In Amritsar, colour connects architecture, belief, and daily life. Through our Last Chance to Paint Instagram children around the world can explore these places with us, ask questions, and respond creatively through their paintings.
