Vijaypur 12th June 2026 : Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur today organized a comprehensive Yoga Session and Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH, Samba, under the guidance of Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal PTTI Vijaypur. The programme was conducted under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and witnessed enthusiastic participation from institute staff and more than 500 trainees.The event was inaugurated by Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, who highlighted the importance of yoga as an effective means of maintaining physical fitness, mental wellness, and overall well-being. He emphasized that regular practice of yoga helps individuals lead a disciplined and healthy life while enhancing resilience and productivity.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Diviya Sharma, Medical Officer, AYUSH, CHC Ramgarh & Dr. Tabassum Choudhary, Medical Officer, GAD, Salmeri who spoke about the significant role of yoga in promoting physical and mental health, particularly in ensuring healthy ageing. She encouraged participants to adopt yoga as an integral part of their daily routine.The practical session included a demonstration of the Common Yoga Protocol by experienced yoga instructors Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Ms. Rajini Kumari, and Ms. Monika Sharma. Staff members and trainees actively participated in various yoga exercises and breathing techniques, displaying great enthusiasm and commitment towards the practice. As part of the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, all participants took a solemn pledge to remain free from all forms of intoxication and to actively contribute towards building a healthy, drug-free society. The pledge reinforced the institute’s commitment to creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a culture of fitness and wellness among police personnel.
On the occasion, Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, expressed his gratitude to the AYUSH Department team for their valuable contribution and expertise. He appreciated their efforts in spreading awareness about the benefits of yoga and supporting initiatives aimed at fostering a healthy lifestyle.
The programme was also attended by Shri Devinder Gupta, DySP (Tech), Shri Satish Kumar, DySP (Indoor), and Shri Asif Iqbal, Senior PO, along with faculty members, staff, and trainees of the institute.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment by all participants towards adopting healthy habits, promoting wellness, and contributing to the vision of a drug-free and healthy society.

Vijaypur, May 24:Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur, in collaboration with Diva International Foundation, a renowned national NGO based in Jammu, successfully organized a one-day Mega Multi-Specialty Health Camp and Cancer Awareness Camp at the Institute premises today. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of providing comprehensive healthcare facilities and spreading awareness regarding preventive healthcare and early detection of Cancer among Police trainees, Staff, and their family members. The camp was formally inaugurated by Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, in the presence of S. Amardeep Singh Sasan, Chairman & CEO, Diva International Foundation, along with Senior Officers and dignitaries. A dedicated team of 30 senior Doctors, Medical specialists, and Para-medical staff from prominent Hospitals and healthcare institutions participated in the camp and rendered their expert services throughout the day. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from trainees, staff members, and their families, who availed themselves of the free medical facilities and consultations.
The medical camp offered a wide range of healthcare services including:
1. General OPD consultations
2. Free medicines distribution
3. Blood pressure and diabetes screening
4. Eye examination and vision testing
5. Laboratory investigations and diagnostic tests
6. Cancer awareness counseling and preventive health guidance

Specialized consultations were also provided in the fields of:
1. Orthopaedics
2. Gastroenterology
3. Neurology
4. ENT
5. Gynaecology
6. Oncology and Cancer Care
The Doctors emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups, healthy lifestyle practices, and early diagnosis of diseases, especially Cancer and lifestyle-related ailments. Awareness sessions were also conducted to educate participants regarding preventive healthcare measures and timely medical intervention. A large number of beneficiaries including Police trainees, Ministerial Staff, subordinate staff, and their family members attended the camp and received free medical consultations and treatment. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, appreciated the efforts of Diva International Foundation and the participating doctors for organizing the humanitarian initiative at PTTI Vijaypur. He highlighted the importance of healthcare support and awareness programs for police personnel and trainees who work under demanding conditions. He further expressed gratitude to all visiting doctors and medical staff for sparing their valuable time and services for the welfare of the police fraternity. As a gesture of appreciation, the participating doctors and medical experts were honoured with mementoes by the Institute authorities.Among others present on the occasion were Shri Khushwant Singh, DySP, Shri Satish Kumar, DySP, Smt. Sonali Kohli, DySP, officers of the Institute, faculty members, and officials of Diva International Foundation.
