✨We are delighted to share with you the official front cover of our e-magazine, Palimpsest: Stories Told Through Fragments of Missing Parts, published by Biblio-thek.✨
A heartfelt thank you to the artist, Suman Sundas (Xö Ñàm), for creating this stunning artwork. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our mentor, Nikhilesh Bhattacharya, whose thoughtful guidance helped shape this cover.
This artwork beautifully captures the essence of our magazine, exploring themes of transformation, consciousness, and inner awakening through surreal symbolic imagery and ornamental flow.
At its center is a calm, meditative figure emerging from chaotic currents and organic forms, representing stillness amidst emotional and psychological turbulence. From the figure's head emerge surreal biomorphic forms, symbolising altered perception, spiritual growth, expanded consciousness, and the intricate landscape of the human mind.
Floating pages and books drift through the composition like fragments of memories, thoughts, and experiences that shape one's identity. Surrounding the figure are swirling atmospheric patterns inspired by Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, creating a dreamlike sense of motion and emotional intensity, as though the environment itself is alive with thought and energy.
At the bottom of the composition, an abstract phoenix rises through flowing waves and ornamental currents, symbolising rebirth, resilience, and personal evolution. Rather than portraying the phoenix literally, the artwork approaches it symbolically and intuitively, allowing its form to emerge naturally from the chaos that surrounds it.
