"This is dedicated to the especially abled who need to be woven together in our society and be part of mainstream instead of being marginalized."

The light was gently trickling through squares of baked clay, hung from the ceiling to floor, in multiple strings woven together like beaded curtains. Each square swatch was different from the other, made by a...

Releasing and letting go to create a space.
A space that is both empty and ready to receive, where ideas come and go, watchful egos that float in and out.

Senses that feel and emotions that rise and fall, like a wave that warmly caresses you, before you once again find your balance:

“Woven Together” is this, and more...
It is not about me, not about you, nor about them “Woven Together” is about us.

“Woven Together” is an experiential installation that aspires to take back the viewer to the basics, it almost endears you to move within and explore your own feelings and realizations.

Inauguration : 6.30 pm on 1st September @ Juneja Art Gallery, Jaipur

Farzan Dalal, Exhibition Designer for "Woven Together"; feels Acceptance is not just a feeling but a practice that one undertakes on a daily basis. Only then can we love ourselves & others and celebrate ‘us’ for who we are.

Priyanka Dasgupta Banerjee, Poorvaja Kelkar, Maithili Sevekari, Vasundhara Iyer, Vaishali Patil (Hrishikesh Pawar's Team) were fascinated to collaborate with "Woven Together" team and to work with clay as a medium. Gradually we imbibed the qualities of clay into our minds and bodies and started weaving our thoughts, feelings and experiences together, with the threads of movements and improvisations. Finally, our interactions helped us create a work of art, aptly titled “Woven Together” which resonates with each one of us and shares the message:

“Our life is a piece of clay, thus we should not let someone else mould it for us”

Hrishikesh Pawar, formally trained in Kathak, followed by over 8 years of study & practice of contemporary dance in Palucca Schule Dresden Germany, has moved beyond the classical dance boundaries to explore the various dimensions of the human body.

Hrishikesh’s take on Woven Together Collaboration -

“Woven Together has allowed me to reflect on a personal front, while alsore-looking at the work that I have done. It has also evoked a sense of acknowledgment of my work.

I observed the forms & structures that the clay shapes. Although, rather than imitating the movement of clay, I have tried to imbibe the many aspects of clay into my creative process as a dancer.

I take the clay from the dance and the dance from the clay."

"Woven Together “ is a tangible creative outcome of a collaborative journey that was started over a year ago - " Mutthi - A fistful of clay ". Ruby Jhunjhunwala transforms her studio Adipa once every month into a community space for people of different abilities, diverse backgrounds, and all ages; to connect and understand one another from a perspective other than their own. Together they play with clay and leave their identities in the form of a ‘Fistful of Clay’.
