~ Labourers carve out stones, only Artists can carve out beauty ~
Maybe an Artist can make something beautiful out of nothing but I believe it takes beauty at heart to appreciate the form of Art :) Different people find beauty in different things. No two eyes see the same thing. But a general consensus of something beautiful brings us all together as one :)

It was a memorable afternoon. Weekdays in Jaipur with no crowd called for some decent pictures. Seldom do we find these corners empty. Such is the craze for Forts in Rajasthan

Moment of Admiration
There are moments in our lives which makes question the reality. We have all experienced them, we cherish them. To have lived something magical, something that gives you adrenaline rush, is beyond words.
-
One such moment of my Life was witness the Pangong Lake. Yes, “Witnessing”. Because it is not just a place, it’s an experience.
-
Traveling from Nubra Valley to Pangong lake early in the morning was an awesome roadtrip. From overlooking valleys, Majestic mountains, Beautiful river streams to small human settlements, rocky roads and blue skies, I saw it all in one single day. From the years that I lived, I never witnessed anything like it.
First, we drove along the valley & then we actually went down the road to driving through the valley, it was amazing. Mountains just stood all around us while we traversed through.
-
So many thoughts inside my head but my eyes just focussed on the road & the mountains making myself wary of the fact that we might crash into one of them.
-
Reaching Pangong Tso was a bliss. While the subzero temperatures made it tough to stand, the wind blowing across peeked through tiny openings in our clothings making us shiver. But my eyes had their own plans. I couldn’t stop looking around. I just wanted to soak it all in.
-
When the time came to have lunch, all I could think of was to plan another trip to Ladakh again. I looked back at the scene in this picture & spoke, “see you soon my friend”. The sudden gush of wind across the face indicated the nodded approval of the distant white mountain range. I smiled & went back inside :)
-
To this very day, the pictures keeps reminding me, screaming the words I spoke standing there. A mental giggle follows the words, “Someday soon, very soon !”

Among the mighty mountains
Continuing on the previous post, before the night prevailed, we decided to call it a day & head back to our place.
It was a cold evening, with temperatures dropping to -3 degrees. Cold winds blowing across made it harder to withstand. Sun was already on it’s way to the other side of earth, which meant the day would soon soon.
I saw the double hu**ed camels disappear towards the same mountains. As I stood there, my eyes adjusted to the disappearing light but my camera couldn’t (with the usual settings). I turned back towards our vehicle, happily scrolling the beautiful pictures that I had clicked.
-
When I suddenly realised a calling & turned back. My fingers moved on their own accord over a few dials on my camera & I clicked. Few adjustments, a few lateral steps & a request to the vehicle’s driver later, I got this photograph :)
-
May be it was a little dark for my eyes to capture the scene, but an experimental shot on a camera got me something beyond my capabilities.
-
Our travel to this place was delayed by a blocked road, which had bummed us out. But the end of the day saw me delighted with beautiful pictures & lovely memories :)
-
The camera power button said Off followed by the roaring sound of the engine. It marked the end of the day for us :)

“When the wind calls, you know, that somewhere in the mountains, it has found the answers that you were looking for. The pull of the horizon overcomes the inertia of reason…And you just have to go.”
– Vikram Oberoi

This quote explains every bit of my emotions that I have for the mountains.

I usually find it challenging to pen my thoughts. Sometimes I wish I was a better writer & sometimes, I wish I was a painter. I question this inclination towards the creative aspect of myself. Maybe, to better understand my purpose of existence. I try. Clueless, I end this self-conversation with, "Probably to be away from the usual routine, to feed your soul something meaningful"

Anyway, I have been fascinated by mountains ever since I started traveling around. They have a magnetic pull for my soul. Watching the sun set over the mountains is ever fulfilling. The trip to Ladakh has left me with so many memories.

In awe of that roadtrip, We reached this beautiful place called Hunder Sand dunes. It is quaint place in Nubra Valley. It was late in the evening & we could realise the night taken over the scene. Double hu**ed Camels are the residents here. Fortunate enough, we found some tourists willing to take a ride around the place on the camels.

Standing in the valley, amongst the mountains & light streaks peaking through the gaps , I chased the camels as they went over a sand dune and towards a mountain range. Rushing the shutter button on my camera, I got few decent snaps. Then, I slowly watched them disappear between the dunes & mountains. I wish I waved them a goodbye. I never saw them again :)

We returned home & the night came. It, now, remains as a beautiful memory to me, through this picture :)

Depth of a photograph is the story behind it

A small river flowing beside the road, clouds making their way back home as the sun went down & mountains slowly closing their act of flaunting themselves, a monumental structure sat among them enjoying the show. Oblivious of the fact that they are being watched, observed & admired.

A Photograph is a moment captured still. To be able to live the moment is the Purpose. It is the story behind any photograph that adds meaning to it. We often calculate the length & width of a snapshot. But a story adds a depth to it.

The story behind this image is the feeling of getting back home. As far away as it may be, the feeling of going back sure is comforting. It doesn't really have to a fortress under the clouds. It is just a small zone of comfort that let's you sigh & holds your head while is drops to rest.

I remember being tired after a long journey & wanting to get back home & lie down. While I killed my time looking at the beautiful landscape through the car window, I looked at this Monastery & smiled. While my hands & camera moved on their own, I could sense that I was gonna reach home soon.

I was looking for a stone, I found a gem
Doesn’t it happen often that when we have such low expectations, when we are almost on the verge of losing hope, we find something really great?
Well, I know it happens with many of us. Some times, we get so hopeless that we are ready to settle with mediocrity or even less. But life has different plans :)
I think that’s one of the definitions of “God’s plan”, right .pandaa24 ?
-
But, There’s a catch ! We earn it through our perseverance & dedication, through our hard work & struggles. When we believe in the process, it rewards us with things much greater than we can imagine.
-
What we need to do to get such a blessing?
Firstly, nothing comes on it’s own. We have to keep at it, keep working towards it.
Secondly, Be honest in your efforts. Consistency, dedication, patience & faith.
-
In short, WE HAVE TO EARN IT :)
-
For this Photograph, I was clicking everything around & never really expected to get anything outstanding. But I knew I wanted to click because I wanted to discover frames. At the moment, maybe I didn’t realise but looking at the image later made all the efforts worth it
