तुम गए हो जब से जैसे बहार चली गई
दिल की धड़कन बाकी रही, क़रार चली गई |

तेरे बाद हर लम्हा बेमानी सा लगता है
मुस्कुराहट तो रही, मगर ख़ुमार चली गई |

सोचा था वक़्त भर देगा ख़ाली हर कोना
पर दिल के शहर से हर बहार चली गई |

रंज़िशें थीं मगर कुछ लुत्फ़ बाकी था
दर-ओ-दीवार से अब तो दरार चली गई |

ज़रा सी बात पे भुला देते हैं पल सुहाने
रिश्तों से अब छोटी-छोटी तकरार चली गई |

इक सिलसिला-ए-मुसल्सल है दाग़ ओ फ़रेब का
यूँ ही नहीं हमसे वफ़ा की एतबार चली गई |

Dil ki dhadkan baqi rahi, qaraar chali gayi.

Ranjishe thi magar kuch lutf baaqi tha
Dar-o-deewaar se ab to daraar chali gayi.

Zara si baat pe bhula deta hai pal suhaane
Rishto se ab chhoti chhoti takraar chali gayi.

Ik silsila-e-musalsal hai daagh o fareb ka Sohaib
Yun hi nahin hum se wafa ki aitbaar chali gayi.

निफ्स शब् ढ़ले नींद का ग़लबा हो जाता है तारी
और यादों से तेरी आंखें खुलती है बारी बारी।

अंधेरी फ़िज़ाओं में फ़क़त गूंजी है तेरी सदाऐं
बस ये चाँद ओ सितारें सुनतें है बातें हमारी।

हर घड़ी ये सोचू के ख़ता थी तो आख़िर क्या थी
तुम्हें भूल जाने की कोशिशें बेकार है सारी।

मोहब्बत के लम्हे भी अब तो लगते है एक मज़बूरी
नज़र के फरेबों में गुज़री है उम्र सारी की सारी।

अब बाकी क्या रहा न कोई गिला न शिक़वा किसी से
जो ख़वाब थे आँखों में सब धुंधला गए बारी बारी।

सबब क्या था गुनहग़ार कौन था तुम परेशान मत होना
तेरा नाम भी लू अगर तो कलेजा कटता है बारी बारी।

वफ़ा और फरेब के सिलसिलें यू ही चलते रहेंगे
नादाँ है जिसने उम्मीद ऐ वफ़ा में उम्र गुज़ारी।

जुल्म और सितम का सितम हम पर हर सु देख रहे है
अहले नज़र है जो ग़लबा ऐ इस्लाम की बू देख रहे है।

मुजाहिद वो और होंगे ये हमारे बस की बात नहीं
अहले इमां ही मज़लूमों का गिरता लहू देख रहे है।

ऐसा कौन है जो हक़ के लिए आवाज़ अपनी बुलंद करे
रात घनेरी है मगर हम जलता इक जुगनू देख रहे है।

बज़्म ऐ सितम में कोई ख़ामोशी से सब लिख रहा है
अहले हरम का तर्ज़ ऐ अमल रंग ओ बू देख रहे है।

फिर अता कर इस क़ौम में जज़्बा-ए-अय्यूबी या रब
की मुसलमां है ख़ामोश और सितमग़र बाज़ू देख रहे है।
