Matti Manishi by Nibha Theatre Ensemble is a devised performance based on the novel by the same name, written by Dr Vasireddi Sita Devi in 1972.

"Matti Manishi", meaning "The Earthy Being" is a tale that conveys the enduring bond between land and three generations of a family - Sambayya, Venkatapathi and Ravi. The other characters of the play Varudhini, Ramnathbabu, Kanakayya among others represent the plethora of allures that an urban, sophisticated life has to offer. The land becomes more than just a setting; it's almost a character in itself, providing stability and purpose amidst life's trials. The idea of being born and eventually laid to rest on the same land speaks volumes about the profound connection people can have with their ancestral homes.

As we embark on this theatrical adaptation of "Matti Manishi," we pay homage to Vasireddy Sitadevi's enduring legacy. May her literary vision continue to inspire and captivate audiences, reminding us of the power of storytelling to illuminate the depths of the human soul.

Bhaskar Shivalkar Sir, Saadar Naman. I had the privilege to meet him when he came to watch one of Nibha Theatre Ensemble's plays. From then on had the pleasure of his presence in our other plays too. He would always extend his good wishes to a novice group like ours and would share his views and thoughts after the show. A very approachable, humble and warm personality, always smiling generously. He was one audience whose presence would suddenly lift our spirits and infuse us with energy, courage and conviction, motivating us to deliver our best! With his demise, an era of Hyderabad theatre has come to an end. His contribution to the Hyderabad theatre will always inspire the generations to come. After much contemplation, finally, after three years of it's debut show, back in March 2020, we have decided to put our acts together and revive the epic play Himmat Mai, a Hindi adaptation by Neelabh Ashk of the original play, Mother Courage and her Children by the famous German playwright Bertolt Brecht. The first attempt to revive and stage it failed in March 2021, owing to the second wave of covid pandemic. We were almost there, ready to perform on the show date, but had to cancel the show after the grand run, only a night before. Many of the team members fell sick with delta variant, got hospitalised and traumatised for days to come. The play got confined to the four big trunks, in a balcony, and never saw the light of day. However the spirit of the play is too strong to be ignored for long, and would keep knocking at our conscience , till we just gave in, and gathered enough 'Himmat' to revive Himmat Mai. With huge ensemble cast comprising of both seasoned and novice artists, Team Nibha is ready to stage it's most challenging production HIMMAT MAI.
HOWEVER WE ARE PERFORMING FIRST IN RANGASHANKARA BENGALURU.
Requesting friends and well wishes to spread the word around in your circle of friends Bengaluru. Thank you for your support.
