Make Sure You Don't Limit Your Esaal To Just Once A Year, But Make A Habit Of Doing It Everyday. Doesn't Matter How Small Your Contribution Is, Every Bit Counts 💝 . Sayyidina Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) narrated that mother of Sad bin ‘Ubada (RA) died in his absence. He (RA) said, “O Allah’s Apostle (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam)! My mother died in my absence; will it be of any benefit for her if I give Sadaqa on her behalf?” The Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) said, “Yes,” Sad said, “I make you a witness that I gave my garden called Al Makhraf in charity on her behalf.” [Bukhari] . Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbaas (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports a man once asked Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam), ‘O Prophet of Allah! My father has passed away and he did not perform Hajj, can I perform Hajj on his behalf?’ Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) enquired of him, ‘If your father had any debt, would you have paid it.?’ The man replied, ‘Yes.’ Upon this, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘In that case, the Deen of Allah has more right.’ (Sunan Nasai, Hadith 26331) . “When man dies, his actions come to an end except three, the rewards of which keep accruing even after his death, (they are) Sadaqa (charity) that have recurring benefits, knowledge from which people continue to benefit, pious children who offer du’a on behalf of their deceased parents” (Sahih Muslim, Vol 2, Pg 41, Kutub Khana Rasheediyya) . According to one narration, we understand that the deceased are resembled to a drowning person who frantically awaits rescue. Similarly, the deceased awaits duas or any good deed from his parents, brother and friends. When he receives the gift (of dua or any good deed), he cherishes it more than the world and whatever it contains. (Shuab Al-Imaan, #7527, Al-Maktaba al-Rushd) . . .
