The history of the association is very interesting. Some young chaps used to attend their offices at Kolkata from different locations of Chinsurah by a particular Howrah bound local train (K6) in a particular compartment on every working day. On the journey they exchanged and shared their views, ideas and interests. The energetic and enthusiasts had a common will of something different to reach and serve the common people. But, the limited time of train journey shunted their ideas to sidelines. One day a young chap of the group suggested to from an organization to fulfill their dreams, and the proposal was cheered by all. Many a name was proposed by the members for the organization but everybody settled on “Antareep” which means ‘a large piece of land that sticks out into the sea from the coast’. But, during the formalities of registration the word “Chuchura” had to be added to avoid controversy and legal proceedings in the future. So, finally Antareep.Chuchura came into existence in the year 1999.
Immediately, an outing was arranged at Chinsurah Rice Research Centre to decide upon the various aspects of the club. A committee was formed to run and organize the club. The oath was taken to light the candle of Antareep. Chuchura in each and every corner of the locality.
