Tireless Efforts Underway to Resume Irrigation Canal in Nutnussa

For the past two days, the Irrigation and Flood Control Department in Handwara has been working around the clock in Nutnussa to restore the vital irrigation water canal that serves the region — a lifeline for over 10,000 farmers.

Special recognition goes to Manzoor Ahmad Lone, who is truly a one-man army, working tirelessly and shoulder to shoulder with the public to ensure the smooth resumption of the canal. His dedication has been unwavering.

This entire effort has been further inspired by Bhat, a selfless local known for his commitment to water management. Responding to his call, the department mobilized quickly, and the process is being handled with remarkable coordination between officials and local residents.

While this issue has often gone unnoticed in the past, occurring almost every year without much attention, the resilience of the community and the dedication of these individuals stand out.

Good news is on the horizon, and both the department and the farming community of Nutnussa can look forward to a positive outcome very soon.

A Heartening Act of Social Responsibility
Today, the young buds of Nutnusa came together with senior citizens to carry out a commendable act of social service. A long-standing drainage issue at a busy hotspot was successfully fixed, bringing much-needed relief to the area.

Such proactive involvement by local citizens is truly inspiring. It's a strong reminder of what community spirit can achieve when generations unite for the common good.

We urge the R&B department to monitor and support such initiatives to ensure their sustainability. A big salute to the people of Nutnusa for this positive step forward.

Street solar Lights Installed in Nutnussa – A and B Step Forward light

Today, street solar lights were finally installed in the vicinity of Nutnussa, and for that, we extend our sincere thanks to the DDC member of Nutnussa Mr Adv Zahoor Magray sahab. This marks the first time tangible development work has been undertaken by the DDC in our area, and we genuinely appreciate this initiative.

We now hope that the remaining 2-way and 3-way hotspots will also be equipped with proper lighting in the near future. Additionally, some graveyards in the area still remain without any lights, and we urge the concerned authorities to address this important need soon.

Progress starts with small steps – and this one deserves recognition.

Good News for the Entire District of Kupwara

It’s a moment of pride and relief for the whole district of Kupwara as has finally taken its final shape in . This is a significant milestone that will benefit the entire district. Healthcare should remain above politics, and the people of Kupwara should wholeheartedly accept this central location.

Until now, the people of Kupwara have suffered immensely due to casualties caused by patients being stuck in traffic jams. Now, with its strategic location between Handwara and Kupwara, the new GMC will provide timely medical care, saving countless lives. Economically, this central positioning will also boost the economy of both Handwara and Kupwara, bringing new opportunities for growth and development.

A heartfelt thanks to Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Saifulla Mir, Mir Fayaz, and other MLAs of Kupwara Tehsil for their unwavering support in making this possible. From December until now, this achievement would not have been possible without the consistent efforts and dedication of Showkat Masoodi Sahab.

Special gratitude is also due to the senior citizens and Team Nutnusa for their vital role in making this dream a reality.
