Its been a while since we have reviewed any films because of certain projects we are currently doing. So today we have decided to review one of the much anticipated Assamese film that has been released on 7.7.17. Dooronir Nirola Poja.
Here's our Review-
After much waiting and anticipation, Dooronir Nirola Poja got an all Assam release this Friday. Directed by debutant director Dhruva J Bordoloi, the film takes on the journey of a family over a span of life focusing on various issues faced by every member of a middle class family. Dooronir Nirola Poja is sure to touch the hearts of every member of the family as the film has something for every member, the hard working father, the housewife mother, and the school going kids.
Despite being a debutant Dhruva J Bordoloi shows a lot of brilliance and excellence in directing the movie and every frame of the film looks more like a live recording of a home rather than a scripted act. And this also earned Dhruva J Bordoloi the Best Debutant Director award at the recently held Prag Cine Awards.
The music composed by Tony Deori Basumatary and Utkarsh Dhotekar, the amazing lyrics penned by Rajdweep, and the brilliant guitar piece by Derrick Correia gives the film a hauntingly magical touch. The film's sound design by Ranjan Pattnayak was also really impressive. There are only two songs in the film 'Khuje Khuje Jibon' and 'Xur Herabo Khuje' both sung by none other than Angaraag PAPON Mahanta.
The cinematography is done by Suruj Deka and the shots are really beautifuly captured. The film is edited by Dhruva J Bordoloi himself and is really beautifully cut, giving the film a slow and smooth pace.
The cast includes some known faces from the industry like Mintu Baruah, Jayshree Goswami and Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika. Mintu Baruah as the father completely steals the show while Jayshree Goswami as the mother was brilliant too. The film also has Partha Hazarika and Raghavi Dutta in the cast. Partha was a surprise package with a really powerful performance while we felt that Sonia Sarma's role as Anindita could have been a little bit better but she was not bad either.
Dooronir Nirola Poja is one of those films that you could watch with your family or your friend or a relative. It is one of those rare films to which we can relate to. Watching this film makes you feel like atleast some part of your life is being mirrored on the big screen.
Finally, Dooronir Nirola Poja is one of the finest and really well made Assamese film that brings hope again for the revival of the Assamese Film Industry.
ScreenFactory rates Dooronir Nirola Poja - 3.5/4
