NAILING THAT PERFECT MONOLOGUE

What makes a perfect monologue?

Is it when a performer suddenly shifts gears by changing their mood or voice? Is it the seamless transition from one thought to the next? Or is it the subtle play with rhythm that suddenly makes the piece come alive?

This masterclass will make an attempt to answer these questions for you, while demystifying the complexities that make monologues one of the most sought after yet, the most difficult aspect of theatre. It will help you explore these questions by grounding your work in truthful behaviour and an ability to respond genuinely to each unfolding moment. You will learn to cultivate a clear and an honest presence so that your story speaks through you with simplicity and power.

So get ready as Mohit Mukherjee, a veteran theatre actor and director with 15+ years of experience, 500+ performances and a track record of mentoring over 2000 students guides you through the journey of unravelling your inner monologue.

This masterclass is open to actors, performers, slam poets, stand-up artists and storytellers in general.

Write to us at theplayfactorydelhi@gmail to know more about what the masterclass holds for you.

New ideas. New performer. A new chapter of storytelling. Thrilled to announce that Spiral will be performed as part of the inaugural edition of the New Delhi Fringe Festival. Catch it at the Create Studio in Ghitorni as it makes its Delhi premiere, following a spectacular debut at the Royal Academy Bhutan earlier this year.

📅 23rd November (Saturday)
⏰ 4pm and 7pm
🗣️ English/Hindi
🎟️ are live on Bookmyshow https://in.bookmyshow.com/plays/ndff-spiral/ET00418947

Spiral is an evocative solo performance that intertwines three distinct narratives in a stream-of-consciousness style, delving into the intricate ways women navigate and negotiate abuse in both private and public spheres. These narratives, though fictionalized, are rooted in lived realities, painting a vivid yet poignant picture of urban womanhood in India. Far from a didactic commentary, the performance thrives on active experience, breaking the fourth wall to draw the audience into its intimate world. In doing so, it dismantles the conventional boundaries between performer and viewer, transforming spectators into participants in this shared journey.

Delighted to have Shreya take the stage for this production. Her dedication and resilience as a performer have elevated the creative process into something truly profound.

P.S. Stay tuned for December dates – they’re coming soon!

We are thrilled to announce the premiere of our play, Spiral, at the Royal Academy in Bhutan. Alongside the performances, our team will also conduct a series of workshops with students and teachers, hoping to enrich the local community with our insights and experiences.

Spiral is an original narrative conceived by .artist.run and during the lockdown years of 2021 and 2022. This piece explores the stream of consciousness, delving into how women navigate and negotiate abuse in both personal and public spaces. Initially envisioned for three performers, Spiral has transformed into a compelling solo performance.

This transformation is marked by , who has brought her unique elements to the narrative while working on the floor. Spiral marks Rishika's debut solo performance, and we are incredibly excited to showcase her talents as both a performer and a writer.

Featuring the brilliant photography of Rishabh Sood, our poster has been meticulously crafted by Manasi, a very talented design student at Anant University.

Following our shows in Paro and Thimphu, Bhutan, we hope to bring Spiral to audiences in Delhi in July and August. For now, we eagerly anticipate sharing our work with the audiences in Bhutan and invite you to wish us luck for these exciting performances.
