None of it could have been scripted.

What we created was raw, fearless and unflinching like the play itself.

Deepest gratitude to this extraordinary band of Avengers we somehow became along the way.

The curtain falls. But only for a while.

Until we return, we carry the echoes of every line and every moment that made this journey unforgettable.

People say “put your head down and keep putting in the work” and maybe there is truth to that after all. I think I finally understood it during the third rendition of Spiral. Our sixth show, our third performer, and somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, delays, shifting priorities and other projects taking over, this piece quietly kept waiting for its time.

As a writer and maker, there is something deeply fulfilling about finally seeing a vision breathe the way you always imagined it would. Not loudly, not dramatically, just a silent sense of arrival.

Preeti entered this process like a storm and completely made the piece her own. And the incredible avant garde geniuses, Ashim, Anil, Deepak, Yusra and Shameem, gave Spiral the pulse, texture and unease we had been searching for, for years.

Thank you Neha Kirpal for the beautiful feature in The Hindu and for engaging with the work so generously.

It’s wild to think Mere Humnafas began as a simple jam/discussion with Yusra… then Anil walked in and something just clicked. And now, here we are, three shows in under a month, with a few more already taking shape.

What’s stayed constant through it all is the people. Those who’ve come and sat with us, felt the work and those quietly holding everything together behind the scenes—venue partners, tech teams, engineers, helpers. We feel it, every single time.

Alright, enough getting emotional.

New ideas. New performer. A new chapter of storytelling. Thrilled to announce that Spiral will be performed as part of the inaugural edition of the New Delhi Fringe Festival. Catch it at the Create Studio in Ghitorni as it makes its Delhi premiere, following a spectacular debut at the Royal Academy Bhutan earlier this year.

Spiral is an evocative solo performance that intertwines three distinct narratives in a stream-of-consciousness style, delving into the intricate ways women navigate and negotiate abuse in both private and public spheres. These narratives, though fictionalized, are rooted in lived realities, painting a vivid yet poignant picture of urban womanhood in India. Far from a didactic commentary, the performance thrives on active experience, breaking the fourth wall to draw the audience into its intimate world. In doing so, it dismantles the conventional boundaries between performer and viewer, transforming spectators into participants in this shared journey.

Delighted to have Shreya take the stage for this production. Her dedication and resilience as a performer have elevated the creative process into something truly profound.
