From South India to Punjab… this antique pair of Yaali has found a new life ✨
These beautifully hand-carved Yaalis are more than just decorative pieces.
✨️ In traditional architecture, the Yaali is a powerful mythical guardian — a symbol of strength, protection, and divine energy. You’ll often see them in temples, standing tall as protectors of sacred spaces.

For this upcycle, I chose Annie Sloan Chalk Paint along with clear wax and gilding waxes — not just for the finish, but for what they stand for.
Unlike heavy polishes and chemical varnishes, chalk paint is a more sustainable and mindful way to restore.
No harsh sanding. No toxic layers.
Just breathing new life into old wood while preserving its soul.
The clear wax seals and protects, while the gilding wax gently highlights the carvings — enhancing the depth without overpowering the original beauty.
