The greatest blessing of my life is that my first Guru is my father, Pandit Raghunath Nakod. Every lesson he taught me was enriched with his years of dedication, discipline, hard work, and unwavering devotion to the art of Tabla. He patiently guided me through every nuance of the instrument and inspired me to pursue excellence with sincerity and humility.
My mother, Vidushi Smt. Renuka Nakod, has also been one of my most cherished Gurus. Whenever she practised or performed, she lovingly taught me how a Tabla accompanist should listen, respond, and play with sensitivity to enhance the beauty of the music. Through her guidance, I learned that accompaniment is not merely about rhythm but about understanding emotion, expression, and musical harmony.
Whatever I have achieved today is the result of the invaluable teachings, sacrifices, blessings, and constant encouragement of my parents. They are not only my parents but also my lifelong Gurus, who shaped me both as a musician and as a human being. On this Guru Purnima, I offer my deepest respect, gratitude, and pranams to them for illuminating my life with the light of knowledge and music.
Happy Guru purnima ππ
