Environmental Conflict (A conflict wave towards mangrove)
Environmental conflict, in just a few decades, has become an irreversible issue and yet is eyed and ignored in daily lives. With the rising human intervention over the ecosystem; landscapes, water bodies and every wildlife is going through unnatural changes. The need to fulfill the greedy human need is pushing civilization to cause a great deal of damage to nature while ignoring the mere fact that itâd only break the ecosystem soon enough with the scale of exploitation that is in progress.
The intent of this works is to express my emotions on the subject of environmental conflict as it has been a trigger Iâve been carrying for the past couple of years. The materials that are used in the process of making these exhibits are found materials from nature and surroundings such as industrial dump objects and other recyclable materials which are not eco-friendly.
Considering the layers in material use, the process can also be named as a material experiment where the experiment itself stands as a conflict.
The visuals of the exhibits represent the change in landscapes which are caused by the conflict with humans. There is a gradual change in color and nature of different landscapes as materials such as plastic, metal and other industrial dumps violate the balance. The same violation and its impact is being brought to the exhibits and hence it is an attempt to symbolically portray human abuse and keep that as a treatment. Considering the global scale of abuse on nature, this attempt is nothing but a micro outburst for the same but hopefully the experiment gives birth to several other possibilities to spread the reaction and protest.
