Nyishi Elite Society, Mishing Bane Kebang, and Adi Bane Kebang Jointly Demand Fast Track Court for Justice in Youth Murder Cases
ITANAGAR, July 28: : In a significant show of unity, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES), Mishing Bane Kebang (MBK), and Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) have jointly demanded the constitution of a Fast Track Court to expedite justice in the recent murder cases of two Mising youths in Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the media at the NES office in Itanagar, MBK President Permanand Chayengia stated, “We held a joint meeting today at the NES office in Itanagar to discuss the tragic murders of the two Mising youths. We strongly condemn the heinous acts and unanimously demand the immediate constitution of a Fast Track Court to ensure swift and fair justice for the victims' families.”
He further emphasized that the house resolved to impress upon the concerned authorities to expedite the investigation and judicial process. Another key resolution was the formation of a General Secretary-Level Coordination Committee between the communities to strengthen the age-old relationship and cultural ties.
Mr. Chayengia also clarified that the recent public outcry and blockade were not directed against any community, but were efforts to draw the government's attention and ensure justice. “Some individuals reacted emotionally and made derogatory remarks on social media, but those have been publicly apologized for. I urge everyone to refrain from such comments, as they can create unnecessary misunderstandings. We must all be sensitive to each other's sentiments and preserve the unity among Abo-Tani clan brothers across the Northeast,” he added.
He also appreciated the proactive role of Adi Bane Kebang in attending the meeting and contributing meaningfully to the discussions.
Speaking on behalf of the Nyishi Elite Society, NES General Secretary Heri Maring informed that the interaction and coordination meeting was held at the NES Research and Heritage Centre, Richi Jullang, Itanagar. The meeting was attended by top leaders and representatives from MBK, ABK, TMPK, MMK, TMMK, ABK Youth Wing, ADISU, ANYA, ANSU, and others.
“We revisited and reaffirmed our deep-rooted cultural and traditional values, and discussed ways to further strengthen our bond. The incident involving the loss of two young Mising lives brought us together in grief and solidarity. We stand united in demanding justice through a speedy trial in a Fast Track Court,” Maring said.
He also clarified that certain narratives had wrongly portrayed the issue as a Nyishi versus Mising conflict, which was never the case. “There is no animosity between our communities. We are all part of the Abo-Tani clan, and we must not let isolated incidents damage our brotherhood,” he stated. He reiterated that the blockade organized by Mising organizations was a peaceful means to seek justice, and the misunderstanding has now been resolved.
To further consolidate peace and brotherhood, a Joint Committee was constituted to prepare a roadmap for long-term inter-community harmony. The members of the committee are:

The committee has been tasked with submitting a comprehensive report and roadmap to the Presidents of NES and MBK within one month.
The house also expressed deep appreciation for Adi Bane Kebang for its continuous efforts in strengthening ties between the Nyishi and Mising communities and promoting peaceful coexistence.
