Goa Science Centre with the support of Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Goa organizes the festival of Science called Science Fiesta every year to commemorate the National Science Day. This is an effort to bring the excitement of science to common people and students and also an opportunity to know about various research institutes and their activities and have live interaction with practicing scientists. Science Fiesta is a common platform for all institutions to portray their efforts in the development of the nation and bring their research & scientists closer to the public. This is an effort to impress upon the minds of our young students that they can also contribute significantly to the nation by following the examples of our great scientists.
This year Science Fiesta will be organized from 26th to 28th February 2018. Every day, apart from the exhibition various other programs such as Meet the Scientist, Exciting Demonstrations, Workshops, Astronomy Slide Show Presentation, Sky Observations, Competitions, Quiz, Cultural programs and etc. will be organised for
the students, teachers, housewives and general public.
We're delighted to be a part of this noble initiative. The Pomegranate Workshop will be conducting the following workshops as part of the Science Fiesta-
Workshop on making windmills
This windmill-making workshop shall guide participant about the basics of designing a windmill - the countervailing forces, the efficiency considerations, sturdiness and balance.
Dates: 26th to 28th February
For students aged 14-19 years
Workshop on making Vibrobots
In this workshop, participants learn the basics of electronics and the concepts of force and friction to create movement.
