On December 13th, the State-Level Sakewa Celebration 2025 was held at Pabyuk Naitam, Shyari. Organized under the aegis of the Akhil Kirat Rai Sangh (AKRS), this annual thanksgiving ceremony dedicated to Mother Earth was graced by the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), as the Chief Guest, along with Madam Krishna Rai.

It was truly a day to remember! The AKRS community felt immense pride as our Elder (Kopa), Shri Uttarman Rai, was felicitated by the Chief Minister for his noble act of donating land for the Mangkhim.

While we have always held the Chief Minister in high regard, seeing both him and Madam Krishna Rai bow to our Elder in a gesture of profound respect moved us deeply. This act of humility has earned them even greater admiration from our entire community. This day provided us with more than just a sense of pride; it gave us a valuable life lesson in the power of respect and service.

On 16,Nov,2025 the AKRS RAI GOAN MEMBERS traveled to Pabyuik Naitam, Gantok, to dedicate their efforts to the preparation for the upcoming Sakewa Festival. It was a great decision for yesterday to give them a helping hand, as they actually needed assistance. Upon arrival, the team quickly organized themselves, efficiently distributing the workload among all members. This approach ensured that everyone did a wonderful job, completing their tasks and making significant progress on the preparations.

The community members were visibly grateful for the valuable support and the effort provided by the team. They kindly showed their appreciation throughout the day by providing continuous refreshments, including tea and water, and thanking the members with a satisfying meal at last. The AKRS RAI GOAN members were happy to have helped so thoroughly, leaving the event with a strong sense of accomplishment and a reinforced connection to the community they served.

AKRS RAI GOAN Meeting - August 24, 2025

We have some truly heartwarming news to share from today's AKRS Rai GOAN meeting. We started with a great discussion about our 'Mangkhim' project and our goal of yearly self-contributions.

The meeting then took a truly inspiring turn. During the meeting, Uttarman Rai and his entire family—his wife Manju Rai, son Sunil Rai, daughter-in-law Indela Rai, daughters Sunita Rai and Sabita Rai, and grandson Sahil Rai—made a momentous announcement. Uttarman Rai has selflessly decided to donate his land for the Mangkhim house, a gesture that honors the memory of his parents, Father, Jit Bahadur Rai and Mother, Ram Lachi Rai.

The family addressed everyone present, sharing the beautiful story behind their decision, a decision made for the future of our culture, our village, and our community. Following their address, Uttarman Rai extended a heartfelt request to all of us to help build the Mangkhim project by giving our time and materials. On behalf of the AKRS Rai GOAN community, we offer our deepest gratitude. A huge thank you to the entire Family for their incredible generosity and for setting such a beautiful example of self-contribution and unity. Let's all come together to answer their call and build our Mangkhim!

What an incredible day! We are so excited to officially launch our branch AKHIL KIRAT RAI SANG COMMUNITY, RAI GOAN, L.BURTUK . Today's Inauguration ceremony was a wonderful gathering filled with joy, culture, and community spirit. It was truly inspiring to see so many of you there to celebrate with us. The Akhil Kirat Rai Sangh (AKRS) has opened its new Block Office in Lower Burtuk Rai Gaon. The inauguration was held today with Kaluram Rai, General Secretary (East District) of the Central Executive Committee, as the Chief Guest. Members of the Sangh and senior citizens of Rai Gaon attended the event. C.B. Sampang has provided a room in his residence for one year to house the new office. AKRS Rai Gaon, formed in 2023, works to protect the area’s cultural history and traditions. It also aims to raise civic awareness and support socially and economically weaker sections of the community. Senior citizens were honoured for their contributions to society. The Chief Guest spoke about the work done by the Central, District, and Block levels and advised holding monthly meetings for better functioning.AKRS youths presented sili (rai traditional cultural performance)
