Akhanda is a progressive experimental Nepali rock band from Gangtok, Sikkim, blending powerful storytelling with immersive soundscapes rooted in the spirit of the eastern Himalayas. Formed by five musicians with diverse influences, the band combines progressive rock, alternative rock, blues, metal, and ambient textures to create a sound that is both emotionally raw and sonically dynamic.

Known for their energetic live performances and emotionally driven originals, Akhanda has steadily emerged as one of the promising independent acts from Northeast India. Their music explores themes of identity, spirituality, inner conflict, love, and human connection — delivered through haunting melodies, intricate instrumentation, and expressive lyricism.

The band consists of:
Aditya Pradhan — Vocals & Lyrics
Alister Darnal — Keyboards
Amos Darnal — Bass
Nimesh Dahal — Guitar
Syoen Wangchuk Lepcha — Drums

Akhanda has earned recognition through performances at major music events and competitions, including:

With a vision to take Nepali progressive rock to wider audiences across India and beyond, Akhanda continues to evolve as a voice of the new generation of independent music from the hills.
