Last year, on 30th August 2025, our small yet determined team travelled to Naga Village a place still carrying the painful scars of the devastating GLOF disaster of 4th October 2023.

What we witnessed was heartbreaking.
More than 150 houses had collapsed.
More than 150 families were displaced, forced to leave behind not just their homes, but memories, dreams, and a way of life built over generations.

The silence of the broken landscape spoke louder than words. Amid the ruins, we met resilient people who continue to fight every single day with courage and hope.

Through our lens, we tried to document not just the destruction, but the strength of the people of Naga their pain, their survival, and their unshaken spirit.

This is more than just a video.
It is a reminder that behind every disaster are human lives, untold struggles, and stories that deserve to be heard.

We remain grateful to everyone who guided and supported us during this journey.
May Naga rise stronger again. ❤️

On 4th October 2023, the peaceful valleys of North Sikkim witnessed one of the darkest nights in its history. The devastating Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) from South Lhonak Lake tore through the Teesta valley, washing away homes, roads, memories, and countless dreams. Villages like Naga stood helpless before the fury of nature, yet the spirit of the people remained unbroken.

In this video, we take you through the deeply affected areas of Naga village — a place where silence now speaks louder than words, where every broken road and every scarred riverbank tells a story of pain, survival, and resilience.

We were humbly guided through the affected region by Mr. Nim Tshering Lepcha, Chairman, Social Welfare Department, whose support and insights helped us witness the ground reality with compassion and understanding.

This is not just a documentation of destruction, but a tribute to the courage of the people who continue to rise despite unimaginable loss. May we never forget the lives affected, the tears shed, and the strength shown by the people of North Sikkim.
