This beautiful waterfall is situated in a village called Kadungapuram near Perinthalammanna in Malappuram district. When you hear the name Paloor Kotta, it might feel like a king's palace but it is actually a fort made by nature itself in all its beauty.
There is a story behind the name Paloor Kotta. Tippu Sulthan had once sought asylum here from enemies while on his way from Palakkad to Malabar.

A view from above the waterfall gave faraway sights which helped to know about enemy's approach. Also the enemies were not able to climb to the origin point of the waterfall.
But today, only the waterfall remain here as a remnant of the glorious past.
This place would attract anyone who loves nature. Different types of butterflies, birds and plant can be seen here. It is one of the most sought out spot for nature photographers.

Kainakary is a village in Kuttanad Taluk in Alappuzha District of the Indian state of Kerala.
Kainakary is famous for its unspoiled scenic beauty. Five rivers originating from the Western Ghats, including the sacred Pamba River, drain into the Vembanad lake in the tip of Kainakary. Once a communist bastion, its literacy rate is notably better than many of its counterparts. The village is blessed with the presence of more than five lakes, which are vast in area. They add to the beauty of this village. Kainakary is a major shooting location for movie/TV soaps/music videos, etc. The village itself has numerous small water bodies, rivers, canals and ponds. People dwell near to canals and river banks mainly. Being part of Kuttanad, vast paddy lands make up the major part of the village. These paddy lands are below sea water level. So the rice cultivation in this area is unique and well appreciated. Floods are another major calamity that can be seen in Kainakary's history. Floods in Kuttanad are expected during every heavy monsoon season in Kerala. And Kainakary is one of the worst affected during these floods. Native people are well accustomed to these hard times, the floods leading to the destroying of crops, damages to houses and buildings. Kainakary is known for its Snake boat race rowers.

The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It consists of the catchment area of the Karamana river, which originates from Chemmunjimottai, the tallest hill within the sanctuary. The sanctuary is named after the Peppara dam, commissioned in 1983 to augment the drinking water supply to Thiruvananthapuram city and suburban areas. Considering the ecological significance of the area, it was declared a sanctuary in 1983. The terrain is undulating with elevation ranging from 100 m to 1717 m. The area of the sanctuary is 75 km2 with tropical moist evergreen forests and myristica swamps.[1] Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is 44 kilometres (27 mi) by car from the nearest railway station, at Thiruvananthapuram, and 49 kilometres (30 mi) from the Thiruvananthapuram airport.
