So let me get this straight… I’m the bad guy because I handled something in MY house the way I saw fit???
I went into my 14-year-old’s bathroom and found what she’s been hiding from me. Not something small. Not something I’m just going to “sit down and talk about” like we’re equals.
I didn’t hesitate. I dragged everything out—clothes, sheets, all of it, and got rid of it right in the driveway. Because last time I checked, I’m the one paying bills here, not a child running secrets behind my back.
Now she’s outside crying like I ruined her life… and suddenly everyone’s acting like I committed some crime.
Oh but wait—if I had ignored it and something worse happened later, I’d STILL be blamed, right???
And yeah, I changed her door too. If I can’t trust what’s happening behind it, then why should she have full privacy? Y’all love throwing that word around like it applies to kids the same way it does to adults.
Funny how people want “gentle parenting” until something actually goes wrong… then they ask where the parents were.
So I’ll ask it straight—
Did I actually go too far… or are people just uncomfortable seeing a parent actually take control for once???
