Komal joined Dharamkot Studio for our Monsoon Artist Residency, bringing with her a truly distinctive way of seeing and making.

Surrounded by the forest, wild plants, birds, and animals of the mountains, she began looking closely at the world around her and letting it shape her work. What emerged is a collection inspired by the textures, forms, rhythms, and quiet details of the landscape.

Her practice became a conversation with the place itself: observing, collecting, interpreting, and translating nature into her own visual language.

Katie came to our 5-Day Pottery Retreat in Goa with a simple goal: to spend more time on the wheel, work through what felt difficult, and challenge herself to keep going.

And she did.

At one point, there was a piece she was ready to give up on. But instead of throwing it away, she stayed with it — working through the frustration, making adjustments, and giving it a little more time.

By the end, it had become one of her favourite pieces.

A small reminder of something clay teaches us again and again: not everything needs to work out immediately. Sometimes, it just needs patience, practice, and the willingness to keep going.

There’s always something exciting about opening the kiln, seeing how the clay, textures and glazes come together after the firing.

These are some new pieces by Dishank, one of our instructors, whose signature way of creating textures has become a distinct part of his work. Made and fired in Goa, with a little help from the kiln.
