Dear friends, Ankahi is hosting Darakht Theatre Company's () stage play 'Bali Aur Shambhu' tomorrow, in Seminar Hall at 6.30 PM tomorrow, i.e. Sunday, November 10th, 2019. Darakht has performed in IIT Delhi a few times in the past, and received audience applause and great response.
"Bali Aur Shambhu, set against the backdrop of a typical old-age home, tells us the story of two senior protagonists who are roommates. You have a grumpy Shambhu, who likes to be left alone and is living his life, somewhat peacefully, until he crosses paths with Bali, a joyous and young-at-heart fellow, his complete opposite.
Whoever thinks old-age or retirement homes are dreary and depressing places, should watch this play to understand that the other side of 60s could be a happier place too."

We hope some of you would take this opportunity to watch the professionals perform and learn from them.

KHAMOSH! ADALAT JARI HAI

The story begins with a group of people, who are planning to stage a play in a village. Since one of the cast members doesn’t show up, a local is asked to replace him. To make him understand the courtroom procedures, a rehearsal is arranged with a mock trial. Unfulfilled desires, gender discrimination, redundant social customs and the sources and manifestations of power emerge in this gripping drama.

Directed By: Namit Mishra, Varshiki Jethwani

Ankahi - The Dramatics Society of IIT Delhi in collaboration with Saitan Theatre Group presents 'The Mousetrap', a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie. The Mousetrap opened in London's West End in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. The longest running West End show, it has by far the longest initial run of any play in history, with over 26,000 performances. The Mousetrap began life in 1947 as a short radio play called Three Blind Mice. It adopted its current name, which is derived from Hamlet, when it moved to the stage, makings its world premiere at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal on October 2 1952.
This production is a Hindi adaptation of ‘The Mouse Trap’ that revolves around the owners and the guests of The Rosewell Guest House. What is worst than a beautiful vacation turning into an unnerving event! This saga reveals the suspense of a murder mystery which surrounds the thrill and the darkness. None will be spared where the dead speaks volume. The play has a twist ending, which the audience are traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre.
“कृपया अपनी-अपनी सीटों का ध्यान रखें, मौसम खराब रहने वाला है! धन्यवाद”
