Representing the idea of wealth and prosperity, the image of goddess Gaja-Lakshmi is among the earliest represented deities in Indian iconography. This is a sealing showing Gaja-Lakshmi in the upper half and inscription of Pala characters in the lower half. Here the goddess is shown standing on an elongated pedestal and she is flanked by two elephants who are bathing her.

The inscription read: 'Nagara bhuklan kumara-malyadhi karnasya'.
