🇦🇺 WHAT SHOULD COME FIRST IN AUSTRALIA — RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OR AUSTRALIAN LAW?
This may not be an easy question, but it is certainly a conversation that should be open, honest and respectful.
Australia is a democratic country where people have the freedom to practise their religion and hold their own beliefs. But an important question remains — should everyone living in Australia respect the country’s democratic laws and legal system?
If someone follows their religious beliefs in their private life, that is one matter. But if someone believes Australia’s existing legal system should be replaced by religious law, shouldn’t Australians be able to have a serious public discussion about that?
And here is another important question:
Should someone be deported simply because of their beliefs or political views, or should government action only be taken when a person actually breaks Australian law or poses a genuine security threat?
In my view, this debate should NOT be about attacking an entire religion or community. It should be about whether everyone living in Australia should have equal rights, equal responsibilities and one common legal system.
🇦🇺 One country. One legal system. Equal rights. Equal responsibilities.
