India Art Fair India Art Fair is the leading platform to discover modern and contemporary art from South Asia
(317)

Taking place annually in Indiaโ€™s capital, New Delhi, India Art Fair, presented in partnership with BMW India, reflects the cityโ€™s fast-developing local arts scene, while offering curated insights into the cultural landscapes of neighbouring countries. The fairโ€™s programme - which draws together galleries and artists, private foundations and arts charities, artistsโ€™ collectives, national institutio

ns, cultural events and festivals - enables international audiences to engage in innovative ways with the cultural history and development of the region. The fair is committed to supporting arts education and professional development opportunities, recognising the crucial need to support the development of the local arts scene, and provide dedicated exhibition space to emerging galleries and arts organisations. Year-round, the fair aims to run an extensive programme of events, including education initiatives, artist commissions and pop-up programmes, aiming to increase audiences for the arts within India

Applications are now open for the ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ at India Art Fair 2027 โ€” curated solo presentations that give a single practice the space to unfold in full.

This is the section for depth. Weโ€™re looking for proposals that let an artistโ€™s vision breathe across a dedicated space: mid-career talents whose work has sharpened over years, and emerging voices from South Asia making something we havenโ€™t seen before. Painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, the experimental and the in-between โ€” if the practice rewards close looking, we want to see it!

Presented by participating galleries and institutions, the Focus Section sits at the heart of the fair, where collectors, curators, and a global art community come to discover whatโ€™s next.

One artist, one room, one undivided conversation.

Apply before the opportunity closes.

One of Ahmedabadโ€™s most remarkable historic landmarks, Baronet House is a grand early 20th-century mansion that reflects the cityโ€™s rich architectural heritage. Built in the Indo-Gothic and Renaissance style, its soaring halls, intricate mosaic detailing, gothic columns and expansive courtyards offer a striking setting for contemporary art and design to unfold in dialogue with history.

Over two days, Baronet House will become a site for discovery and dialogue, bringing together leading galleries, artists, designers and cultural practitioners from across India and beyond through a curated programme of exhibitions, immersions and special events.โ€จ

The work is pervasive, and yet, remains marred by a resistance, narrating through photographs, films, and alternative archives.

On view now at Pristine Contemporary ( ) , ๐™Ž๐™๐™š brings together seven artists from across the subcontinent โ€” Afina Ashraf, Alishba Binte Faysal, Jahnvi Singh Rohet, Krisha Bhuva, Mahnoor Salman Khan, Mays Al Moosawi, and Pem Lham โ€” in an exhibition that asks what it truly means to see a woman. Not as subject but as force. Across painting, miniature, and installation, colour stains and bleeds, movement negotiates, and the female gaze confronts, reframes, reclaims โ€” on its own terms.

We are always already looking. But attention is something else entirely, it strains, flickers, fragments. It is not a given, it is a negotiation.

Curated by Manya Kochhar ( ), ๐™Ž๐™๐™–๐™ฅ๐™š ๐™ค๐™› ๐˜ผ๐™ฉ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ brings together ten artists including Maithli Chaturvedi, Abhimanue Govindan, Chaturika Jayani, Shivangi Kalra, Ashna Malik, Harsh Nambiar, Gayan Prageeth, Aditya Puthur, Arinjoy Sen, and Smitha Shajith, whose practices make attention itself the subject.

Across theatrical painting, surreal domestic interiors, and communal watercolours that pulse with their own rhythm, the works ask who trains your gaze, and what it costs.
