Yakshagna is the official theater society of ADGITM (formely known as NIEC), which is known for its impressive record of exciting and varied activity throughout its 10-year old history. Since then, it has won the annual fest of GGSIP University, ANUGOONJ many times and many other awards in DU theatre circuit as well for its plays. And has been time and again crowned as the best theater group of IP
U. Its members receive hands-on training in varied theater arts. It has consistently been among the most active societies in college, performing at several events in and outside Delhi. The society has a judicious mix of creative, imaginative, expressive and enthusiastic members from all the streams with a majority from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year. A majority of students have experience of theater. With an enthusiastic lot of actors, writers and directors injecting a renewed sense of vigor into the society, its efforts and their rewards have only magnified. Yakshagna aims at allowing budding managers an opportunity to recognize their talents in the field of theatre, while also providing a platform to them to hone these into alternate careers. The society tries to instill in its members not only the art of acting but also confidence, communication skills, effective speaking through voice modulation, expressiveness and the ability to function as a team – all vital characteristics of a good manager. We perform at several venues all over the Delhi, thus giving its members the true feeling of being part of a performance in their own capacities as well as, being part of a close knit team.
